Niko Koronis is a Greek architect and designer. He lives and work in Milan, where he opened his studio. Niko Koronis，Born in 1973 in Thessaloniki, Greece, after graduating in Architecture from the Welsh School of Architecture, he attended his Master Diploma in Design with distinction at Domus Academy. He spent a year as a tutor of the Master in Design, after which he studied for his Phd in Theory and History of Architecture at the Architectural Association in London.

He has taught, lectured and undertaken research in architecture, product and urban design, and has taken part in several exhibitions, amongst which the Venice Biennial and the Triennale di Milano. In 2023 he was awarded for the Wallpaper* Magazine Design Awards in the Best Construction category for his CSQ console, from Carpenters Workshop Gallery.

His works are characterised by a minimalist design, using materials such as resin, marble and metal. Taking visual cues from the work of Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, the design portfolio of Niko Koronis features elegant furniture pieces that can double as sculptures for the home.

The Geometric Resin Series is also known as the“G Series”, pictured below, comprises a bench, coffee table, stool, and console table made from resin and rendered in a pastel color palette of blues, greens, and grays. Each piece of stepped furniture is designed to emulate what the designer describes as“small-scale architectural entities”, and are defined by their linear geometric forms.

Koronis says that resin is a misunderstood material that is experiencing a revival in popularity, and that it is“very interesting yet technically challenging”to work with. Elsewhere, Koronis’s low table carved from a single block of travertine presents a striking interior object, while side tables made out of white Carrera marble feature curving corners that appear like a piece of paper being lifted. His atypical forms show a playful devotion to contemporary design, where hard shapes collide with soft tones.
