当地时间11月12日，美国当选总统唐纳德·特朗普提名多位他就任总统后的重要官员。其中，美国企业家埃隆·马斯克与维韦克·拉马斯瓦米将在他就任总统后共同领导拟成立的“政府效率部”（Department of Government Efficiency, 简称DOGE）。

特朗普表示，“政府效率部”将“为拆解政府官僚机构铺平道路，削减多余的监管法规和浪费的开支，并重组联邦机构”。
Musk and Ramaswamy "will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies", Trump said in a statement.
印度裔企业家拉马斯瓦米是一家制药公司创始人，他曾与特朗普竞争共和党总统候选人提名，在退出竞选后选择支持特朗普。

今年8月12日，特朗普曾与马斯克在X平台进行直播对话。马斯克表示，如果特朗普再次当选美国总统，他愿意在特朗普政府中担任一个角色，帮政府控制支出。他提出建立一个政府效率委员会，来确保纳税人的钱用在刀刃上。
"I think it would be great to just have a Government Efficiency Commission that takes a look at these things and ensures that the taxpayer's hard-earned money is spent in a good way. And l'd be happy to help out on such a commission if it were formed."
Trump had said he would offer Musk, the world's richest person, a role in his administration promoting government efficiency.
Trump has chosen Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and Army veteran, to serve as his secretary of defense. Hegseth has a long record in the military, serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
