AIKE欣然宣布艺术家王晓曲新作参加西岸美术馆与池社联合呈现的群展“穿裤子的云：今天的绘画”。作为西岸美术馆与中国本土艺术机构的首次携手，该展览延续了展厅0对于当代艺术实践的研究和支持。汇集23位来自不同代际和背景的艺术家，他们游走于具象与抽象、传统与当代之间，并以极富鲜明个人色彩的笔触在不同的时间坐标上阐述对于“今天”的思考，共同为公众呈现中国当代绘画实践的多元面貌，提供感知艺术的第一视角。该展览于2024年10月26日至2025年1月5日向公众免费开放。
王晓曲的创作通常将来源于现实、新闻以及网络的图像在画布上调度出具超现实意味的景象，通过扭曲、旋转陌生化了人人熟知的现实图像语汇。她一直在试图从绘画内部对现成图像进行剖析、解构和重置，在她的创作中，形式与题材互为表里。无论作品中主角是人像或物品，王晓曲的工作与肖像绘画紧密相关，她关注人在细微处流露出的精神状态与个人气质，通过夸张的变体与压倒性的构图强化荒诞感。在绘画中, 王晓曲将集体的梦想、社会的意识、秩序投射出来，画中的人物沐浴着政治、文化和一切混合物。

AIKE is pleased to AIKE is pleased to announce that artist Wang Xiaoqi's new work is participating in the group exhibition "A Cloud in Trousers: Painting Today", jointly presented by the West Bund Museum and Pond Society. As the first collaboration between the West Bund Museum and the Chinese art institution, this exhibition continues Gallery 0's mission to encourage contemporary art practices. Bringing together 23 artists from different generations and backgrounds, the exhibition explores the interplay between figuration and abstraction,tradition and modernity. With distinctive personal styles, these artists express their reflections on the present across various temporal coordinates, offering the public the latest experience of the diversity in contemporary Chinese painting. The exhibition will be free to the public from October26, 2024, to January 5,2025.
Wang Xiaoqu takes readily available images from reality, news and internet to create surreal scenes on canvas; She alienated realistic images by distorting and rotating. Wang Xiaoqu has been trying to dissect, deconstruct and reset the ready-made images within the painting. Form and subject are mutually reinforcing in her paintings. Whether the subject is a human figure or an object, Wang’s work is closely related to portrait painting. She focuses on the subtleness of people’s mental states and personalities, reinforcing the sense of absurdity through exaggerated variations and overwhelming compositions. Wang Xiaoqu projects the collective dream, the social consciousness and order in her paintings. Figures in the paintings are bathed in a mixture of politics, culture, and everything in between. She deliberately attempts to establish a “thematic” image, but constantly dismantles these images in the process of painting, turning images into models without the desire of expression they ought to have. She expresses her understanding of the contradictory nature of painting as a medium through the theme of portrait paintings.

Wang Xiaoqu (b. 1987, Guilin) currently lives and works in Beijing. In 2014 she graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a MA.
