The Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission recently honored 48 individuals with the title of "Bravery Models" for their courageous acts. Among the awardees was Hu Youping from Suzhou, East China, who tragically lost her life trying to stop a knife attack that injured two Japanese nationals.
This recognition was based on a comprehensive evaluation of social media trends and recommendations from various regions and units, highlighting the selfless bravery of these individuals. The list includes notable figures such as Liu Hao, Hu Youping, and Cheng Chunting, who bravely confronted illegal activities, and Wang Long and Zhu Ruxin, who sacrificed their lives to save others.
These heroes demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of danger, with some suffering serious injuries and others making the ultimate sacrifice. Their actions have garnered widespread attention and admiration from all sectors of society, frequently trending on social media. Wang Long and Hu Youping's heroic deeds alone received over 1.3 billion views.
Hu Youping, who was previously awarded the title of "Suzhou City Model of Bravery," is a poignant example of selflessness. On June 24, Hu, aged 54, attempted to stop an attacker who was targeting a bus used by a Japanese school at a bus stop in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. She was stabbed multiple times and, despite rescue efforts, tragically passed away.
Netizens have flooded social media with messages of admiration for these bravery models, resonating deeply with the values of courage, kindness, and justice. The commission emphasized that bravery and selflessness are mainstream values in Chinese society, qualities that are collectively admired and celebrated.
