Aim & Scope
Physical Biomedical Science, an emerging interdisciplinary research field, intricately integrates life sciences, medicine and physics. It includes knowledge and technology from diverse disciplines, including materials science, chemistry, pharmaceutical science, information science, and electronic science.
Notably, the symbiotic relationship between physics and life sciences has fostered mutual inspiration, giving rise to novel knowledge systems and transformative technologies. Simultaneously, challenges persist within the intersection of physics and biomedical science, presenting a series of issues yet to be addressed, such as how to establish the connection between physical stimulation and biological function. Physical Biomedical Science seeks to identify measures to tackle these challenges via integrated and interdisciplinary approaches.
This special issue calls for critical reviews, perspectives and research articles that contribute to the studies of “Physical Biomedical Science” from a multidisciplinary perspective. The areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
Regulatory functions and underlying mechanisms of physical fields on biological systems
Novel methods for detecting physical signals in living organisms
Research on the correlation between endogenous physical signals and diseases
Research progress in medical devices for physical stimulation and physical signal detection
Development of physical therapy strategies and their prospects for clinical application
