This 5-week Heidegger course will help you to understand Heidegger's philosophy. You will get a selection of very important texts from Heidegger's Early Philosophy (1919-1930) and get assistance and explanations of the main concepts and the core ideas.
Furthermore, I will teach you *how* to read Heidegger, where to start, what to read (and what not), what to focus on and what the essentials are.
I will also tell you what the most important books *on* Heidegger's philosophy are (in my view), and help you to find literature for your own research ideas.
Why a Course on Heidegger?
Heidegger's philosophy is immensely popular in China and outside of China. His philosophy had an enormous influence on Chinese philosophy and Chinese academics. But reading Heidegger can be very difficult! Especially when you are on your own and when you do not know where to start.
If you start with the wrong book, you might be totally confused and not even understand one paragraph. This might turn you off and turn you against Heidegger. You would probably dislike Heidegger; and you won't understand how people can actually like his philosophy.
This introduction will help you to understand and to appreciate Heidegger's philosophy. After 5 weeks and 5 lectures, I will give you a list of "Further Reading"; and you have the chance to attend more Heidegger courses in the future. Our WeChat Group can be used for further discussions and for questions of all kind.
