A recent tragedy in Hangzhou, has sparked widespread online discussion after a man named Wang Yue (alias) reportedly took his own life following his discovery that his nurse wife, surnamed Mao, was having an affair with a doctor at her hospital. Wang's father, Mr. Xu, confirmed that Wang had died by suicide after confronting the hospital about the affair and being met with ridicule.

The incident came to light after Mr. Xu shared a funeral notice for his son on social media. The notice stated that Wang Yue’s farewell ceremony would be held on September 7 at Xiaoshan Funeral Home. According to reports, Wang's body had been in storage at the funeral home since August 5, as his wife and her family refused to handle the post-death arrangements.

Mr. Xu expressed deep frustration over his daughter-in-law’s refusal to take responsibility. Wang had married into Mao's family, and the local government covered most of the funeral expenses. Despite their son’s tragic death, Mr. Xu and his wife had to organize the funeral themselves, without any cooperation from Mao's family. "She [Mao] has been avoiding us and turned off her phone. If she was going to apologize, she would have done so by now," Mr. Xu said.

The affair reportedly came to light when Wang found explicit photos and videos of Mao and a doctor, Liu, on her phone. The couple had only been married for six months, and Wang discovered Mao's affair while transferring data to a new phone he had bought for her. Distraught by the betrayal, Wang left a heart-wrenching suicide note for his wife, expressing love for her despite the betrayal and stating he could not move past the pain.

On the day of his death, Wang sent Mao the note at 2:18 AM, and Mao responded at 8:51 AM, saying, "Wait for me." By 11 AM, Wang had been found dead in his hotel room by a staff member.

The hospital involved, Zhejiang Provincial Tongde Hospital, has since suspended both Mao and Liu, pending further investigation. However, Mr. Xu remains frustrated by the lack of clear outcomes, stating that he hopes the law will enforce some form of moral accountability in the case.
