Hi, I’m Cheryl Ding, a counselor registered in the Netherlands while mobile across Europe. I've been here on WeCahat Official Account and RedNote for 3 years now and connected with over 14,000 amazing followers—thank you for being part of my journey! 💛 I thought it's time for a fun re-introduction, especially since more English-speaking users are joining the platform! ;)
Working in Multiple Languages
Before moving to the Netherlands, I worked in China with English-speaking clients, mainly expat women. They often battled loneliness, cultural stress, or even dealt with wars back home. Here in Europe, I use Mandarin, English, and sometimes Dutch to help clients express themselves in the language they feel safest in—because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be to switch between languages, especially for expressing feelings.
Since relocating, my clients have become more diverse: adults from 18 to 80+, queer and neurodivergent individuals, all kinds of couples (ever heard of polyamory?), and people navigating identity exploration , transitioning, chronic illness, grief, or even end-of-life transitions. I endeavour on creating a space where cultural and identity differences are not barriers but bridges.
My Style and Approaches
I am an integrative counselor with an embracing and inspirational style. My main approaches include psychodynamic, systemic family, existential-humanistic (gestalt), CBT, DBT, and postmodern therapies (mindfulness, multicultural, solution-focused, narrative, and feminist therapy).
Curious About Starting Counseling?
I get lots of DMs asking, “How do I know if (your) counseling is right for me?” Here’s my suggestion: start with a free chemistry session (it’s like speed-dating for therapy) or book a discounted preparatory interview to ask all your burning questions.
And if I’m not the right fit for you, I’ll do my best to connect you with someone who might be.
So, what’s on your mind today? Is there anything you're curious about? Drop your thoughts below, and let’s start a conversation! 🌱
