参赛团队创新高！“集萃杯”西浦全球创业梦想家大赛决赛圆满落幕

Record-breaking Participation at the “JITRI Cup” XJTLU Global “Dream-Chasers” Entrepreneurial Competition

12月15日， “集萃杯” 西浦全球创业梦想家大赛决赛在西浦创业家学院（太仓）举办。本届大赛吸引来自18国36校的522支团队参与，较上届增长四倍。大赛分为绿色与智能科技、健康生活与文化科技、金融与商业创新三大赛道，覆盖多个学科领域，旨在促进创新创业教育与实践的融合发展。西浦 “无界” 团队以聚焦听障人士的创新项目，斩获健康生活与文化科技赛道冠军，并表示将探索校企合作深化研究。

On 15 December, the final of the "JITRI Cup" XJTLU Global "Dream-Chasers" Entrepreneurial Competition was held at the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). This year’s competition attracted 522 teams from 36 universities across 18 countries, a fourfold increase from the previous edition. The competition featured three tracks: Green & Smart Technology, Health & Cultural Technology, and Financial & Business Innovation, spanning multiple academic fields to foster the integration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and education. XJTLU’s "Infinity" team, focusing on innovative solutions for hearing-impaired individuals, won the Health & Cultural Technology track and expressed plans to deepen research through industry-academia collaboration.

智造生态学院融合式教育项目“Printing³”开幕活动成功举办

School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem “Printing³” Syntegrative Education project successfully launched

11月28日，智造生态学院在太仓校区举行 “Printing³无人售卖摊位启动仪式” 以及 “捏赛博泥巴” 活动。团队成员与指导老师们共同上台为项目剪彩，项目初创成员之一的凌艺桐同学也带来了精彩的 “Nomad建模课” 。未来 “Printing³” 将继续为更多有创意的同学提供平台与支持，优化个性化服务满足更加多样化的需求。

On 28 November, School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem hosted the Launch Ceremony of “Printing³” unmanned vending booth and a creative event “Play Cyber Mud”. Project members and teachers participated in the project ribbon-cutting ceremony. Yitong Ling, one of the initial “Printing³” project members, also brought a "Nomad Modeling Course" to the students. “Printing³” will continue to provide a platform and support for more creative students, and optimize personalized services to meet more diverse needs in the future.

Philips (China) visited School of Robotics

2024年12月23日和27日，飞利浦（中国）研发经理及加拿大Quanser公司代表分别莅临智能机器人学院，双方就合作共建校企联合课程进行了深入讨论，并探索了科研合作的潜在机会。 

On 23 and 27 December, 2024, the R&D manager of Philips (China) and representatives from Quanser Canada visited the School of Robotics respectively. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions about collaboratively developing joint industry-academia courses and explored potential opportunities for research collaboration.

Professor Peter Sachsenmeier, an academician of the National German Academy of Science and Engineering, Ms. Huibo Liu, the director of Suzhou Zhongke Haichuanglian Research Institute, and Mr. Liu Dehui, the director of the international department of the institute, visited the School of CHIPS and conducted an exchange and visit activity. Professor Chen Wei, the Dean of the School of CHIPS, together with the faculty of the School, warmly welcomed the guests and held in-depth discussions.

On 9 December, the School of Internet of Things at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) welcomed our industry partner—senior leaders and technical teams from Ennoconn Technology Co., Ltd. in Suzhou. The visit aimed to explore the future development direction of smart factories through in-depth exchanges and cooperation, and to jointly draw a new blueprint for AIoT integration in intelligent manufacturing.

12月14日， 西交利物浦大学在上海成功举办国际教育创新论坛，聚焦新时代教育模式的探索。产金融合学院院长陈峻松教授、芯片学院院长陈伟教授受邀出席，并与其他嘉宾共同探讨科技浪潮下如何培养下一代创新者和领导者。在论坛上，陈峻松教授以供应链管理专业为例，分享了 “行业整合专业” 的融合式教育模式，展示了这一模式在培养数智时代新型人才方面的创新实践。芯片学院院长陈伟教授强调，芯片产业作为国家战略发展的重要方向，因此芯片学院在课程设置上十分注重实践驱动、整合国际资源和复合型人才的培养。

On 14 December, 2024, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University successfully hosted the International Education Innovation Forum in Shanghai, focusing on innovative education models for the modern era. Professor Junsong Chen, Dean of the School of Intelligent Finance and Business, was invited to attend and joined other experts in discussing how to cultivate the next generation of innovators and leaders in the era of technological transformation. Using the Supply Chain Management programme as an example, Professor Chen introduced the "Industry-Integrated Program" model of Syntegrative Education, showcasing its innovative approach to developing talent for the digital and intelligent era. Professor Chen Wei, Dean of the School of CHIPS, emphasized that the chip industry is a critical focus of national strategic development. As such, the school places great importance on practice-driven curriculum design, integration of international resources, and the cultivation of interdisciplinary talent.

12月17日，产金融合学院与江苏妈咪宝贝控股集团有限公司正式签署合作备忘录。签约仪式在热烈的气氛中举行，江苏妈咪宝贝控股集团有限公司董事长张贻青、电商部主管桂钰淏，产金融合学院院长陈峻松教授、黄劲博士及商务经理宋翔雪老师共同出席。此次合作将为双方在供应链管理和数字化商业领域的深度协作提供新的契机。

On 17 December, School of Intelligent Finance and Business officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jiangsu Mamiboke Holdings Group Limited. The signing ceremony was attended by Yiqing Zhang, Chairman of Mamiboke, Yuhao Gui, Director of the E-commerce Department, Professor Junsong Chen, Dean of IFB, Dr Jin Huang, and Business Engagement Manager Mr. Xiangxue Song. This partnership will open new opportunities for collaboration in supply chain management and digital business.

12月18日，产金融合学院院长陈峻松教授带领全体老师参访了欧冶云商、上海技术交易所及AMT上海企源总部。通过分析AMT企源产业互联网标杆案例，老师们深入了解了产业供应链转型趋势，并全面掌握了AMT上海企源与西利企源的业务发展及优势资源。此次参访进一步探讨了如何将产业优势资源与教育创新实践结合，为推动产教深度融合奠定了坚实基础。

On 18 December, Professor Junsong Chen, Dean of the School of Intelligent Finance and Business, led the IFB staff team on visits to Ouye Cloud Commerce Co., Ltd., Shanghai Technology Exchange, and AMT Enterprise Source Headquarters. Through an analysis of AMT's benchmark cases in industrial internet transformation, faculty members gained valuable insights into supply chain transformation trends. The visit also provided a comprehensive understanding of the business development and resources of AMT and XILIQIYUAN, fostering discussions on integrating industrial advantages with educational innovation practices. This initiative lays a solid foundation for promoting the deep integration of industry and education in the future.

Yuan Gao, Weiming Tan, Haining Li, Jiaming Cheng and Wenwen Zhang, Year 4 students of School of CHIPS, won the Third Prize in the Innovation Design Category of the Colleges and Universities Group in the Southeast Region of the Eighth China (International) Sensor Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for their work on the “Microfluidic Flexible Flow Rate Sensors for Biological Fluids”, under the guidance of Dr. Qifeng Lu.

12月20日， “太仓市大学生创业园走进西浦创业家学院（太仓）” 开放日暨西浦创业家学院（太仓）-太仓市大学生创业园创新创业主题活动举行，共同促进大学生全面发展，提升在校大学生创新创业能力。

活动中，高新区科技招商中心相关负责人作创新创业及人才政策介绍。西交利物浦大学浦创汇是西浦创业家学院（太仓）引导和支持学生创新创业活动和项目的孵化器，浦创汇主任Mikhail Zenchenkov博士介绍了浦创汇的相关内容。现场，西浦创业家学院（太仓）和市大学生创业园将对方优秀人才互聘为创新创业导师。

最终序列（上海）科技有限公司CEO殷晓晗深耕人工智能领域，先后获得“胡润U30创业先锋”“G20YEA青年领军者”“上海杨浦创业之星”等称号，当天，他进行了“康波律动，创业新声——不凡的打怪之路”主题分享。在学生创业项目模拟路演环节，EyeTech（循迹）、Hear Bridge Technologies（重塑新声）、EduX（教慧通）3支团队分别就各自的创业方案进行了路演，创业导师逐一进行现场点评。

接下来，西浦创业家学院（太仓）与市大学生创业园将持续深入合作、联合各方力量，推动产学研深度合作，为培养引领时代的创新创业精英人才、促进科技进步与创新、提高科技成果转化和产业化水平、赋能高新区高质量发展贡献力量。

On 20 December, the “Taicang Youth Entrepreneurship Park Enters XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang)” Open Day and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Salon of XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) - Taicang Youth Entrepreneurship Park were held. The event aims to jointly promote the comprehensive development of college students and enhance their innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities.

During the event, the manager from Science and Technology Investment Center of Taicang High-Tech Zone introduced innovation and entrepreneurship policies and talent policies of Taicang. X3 Co-Venture is an incubator for guiding and supporting student innovation and entrepreneurship activities and projects at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). Dr. Mikhail Zenchenkov, Director of X3 Co-Venture introduced related content. Also, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) and Taicang Youth Entrepreneurship Park appointed each other’s outstanding talents as innovation and entrepreneurship mentors.

Xiaohan Yin, CEO of Final Sequence (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., who is deeply involved in the field of artificial intelligence and has been awarded titles such as “Hurun U30 Entrepreneurial Pioneer,” “G20YEA Young Leader,” and “Shanghai Yangpu Entrepreneurial Star,” shared his theme “Kangbo Rhythm, Entrepreneurship’s New Voice – An Extraordinary Path of Conquering Monsters” on that day. In the student entrepreneurship project simulation roadshow session, the teams EyeTech, Hear Bridge Technologies and EduX presented their respective entrepreneurship proposals, and the entrepreneurship mentors provided on-site feedback one by one.

Moving forward, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) and Taicang Youth Entrepreneurship Park will continue to deepen the cooperation, unite various forces, and promote in-depth industry-university-research cooperation. We aim to contribute to cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial elite talents of the era, promoting scientific and technological progress and innovation, improving the transformation and industrialization level of scientific and technological achievements, and empowering the high-quality development of Taicang High-Tech Zone.

西浦校友会年度管理层会议成功召开，展望未来发展新方向

Annual Leadership Meeting for XJTLU Alumni Association for Entrepreneurs was successfully held, charting a new direction for future development

12月21日西浦校友会年度管理层会议圆满落幕。西交利物浦大学副校长钞秋玲教授在会上回顾了学校近年来的办学成就和人才培养模式，并分享了西浦生源质量和毕业质量不断提升的喜讯。在校友工作汇报环节，特别强调了校友会在加强校友联结、提升学校影响力和促进招生方面的重要作用。通过举办迎新活动、西游记项目以及校友网络搭建，西浦的国际影响力得到显著提升，为未来的招生工作奠定了坚实基础。接着张晓军院长介绍了太仓创业家学院的人才培养目标和对创新创业的新理念。本次活动还举行了西交利物浦大学长江协同创新中心和丝路硅谷国际创新教育中心的揭牌仪式。最后，河南、北京、西浦智能工程学院校友分会及创业校友代表们在活动中进行了精彩的分享与交流，围绕如何构建大学生态影响力进行了深入讨论。会议主要展望了校友会的未来发展方向，进一步加强校友之间的纽带，助力西浦及其校友在全球范围内的进一步发展与合作。

Annual Leadership Meeting for XJTLU Alumni Association for Entrepreneurs has been successfully held on 21 Dec, marking a significant milestone for the university and its alumni network. Professor Qiuling Chao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Information at XJTLU provided a comprehensive review of the university's recent strides in educational achievements and innovative talent cultivation models. Additionally, Professor Chao shared the encouraging news regarding the continuous enhancement in the quality of student enrollment and graduation rates at XJTLU.

During the alumni work report session, the pivotal role played by the alumni association in fortifying alumni connections, amplifying the university's influence, and boosting enrollment efforts was highlighted. Initiatives such as welcome events, the "Journey to the West" project, and the development of robust alumni networks have notably bolstered XJTLU's international awareness. These efforts have laid a strong foundation for future recruitment endeavors.

Professor Xiaojun Zhang, the Leader of XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Leadership Team shared the talent cultivation objectives of the Entrepreneur College (Taicang), introducing new paradigms in innovation and entrepreneurship education. The event also featured the unveiling of the XJTLU CJCI Innovation Center and SILU International Innovation Education Center, marking significant milestones in the university's journey towards fostering innovation.

Finally, alumni representatives from Henan, Beijing, and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem and Entrepreneurial alumni shared their experiences and engaged in insightful discussions on building university ecosystem influence. The event primarily focused on the future development direction of the Alumni Association, aiming to further strengthen the bonds among alumni and support the further development and cooperation of XJTLU and its alumni globally.

From 25 to 29 November, the Asian Conference on Education (ACE2024) has taken place at the Toshi Center Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Professor Matilda Isaac from School of Internet of Things at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and her team (Dr Anisa Vahed, Dr Karim Moussa, Dr Yuji Dong) 's proposal titled "Integrating AI-Enhanced IoT into Higher Education Curriculum Design" has been published and they have been invited to present a panel discussion.

On 13 December 2024, the Academy of Film and Creative Technology hosted the opening of the second edition of NiBBLE: A bite-sized exhibition of interdisciplinary arts. The exhibition brought together works-in-progress and project outcomes produced by students in the BA Arts, Technology, and Entertainment programme. NiBBLE showcased creative applications of contemporary and emerging technology through traditional and experimental processes.

On 10 December, Dr Changkun Feng, the Assistant Researcher from Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, was invited by School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem to give a speech on "Integrated Optical Gyroscope System" and introduce the principle and the research significance of Integrated Optical Gyroscope System gyroscopes.

School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem Year 4 students’ Field Trip to Changsha

2024年12月7日，智造生态学院陈伟博士与陆小龙博士带领智能制造工程专业的大四同学踏上了前往长沙的研学之路。同学们参观了湖南仕博测试公司 (Supertek) 并聆听了公司创始人欧涛博士带来的关于智能制造与汽车测试领域的专题讲座。下午师生们前往中国汽车技术研究中心下属的长沙智能网联汽车试验场，近距离感受智能驾驶技术在真实场景中的应用。

On 7 December, Stage 4 students specializing in BEng Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism, led by Dr Xiaolong Lu and Dr Wei Chen, went to Changsha for a Field Trip. Students visited Supertek and participated in a special lecture given by Dr Tao Ou, the Founder of Supertek. In the afternoon, students went to Changsha Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Ground, a subsidiary of the China Automotive Technology & Research Center, to experience the application of intelligent driving technology in real scenarios.

In December 2024, Prof. Wei Chen, Dean of the School of CHIPS, embarked on an inspiring journey to Guangxi. This was not just a quest to discover young talents passionate about semiconductor technology but also a mission to plant the seeds of scientific knowledge far and wide.

School of Intelligent Finance and Business Hosts "Supply Chain Exploration: The Beer Game" Event for Year 1 Students

12月4日，产金融合学院的熊琳老师和沈月林老师带领大一学生开展 “供应链探秘之啤酒游戏”活动。啤酒游戏是一款经典的供应链策略游戏。在游戏中，同学们分别扮演制造商、分销商、批发商和零售商，通过角色扮演直观体验供应链的运作逻辑。在轻松有趣且烧脑的游戏过程中，学生们沉浸式探索了供应链管理的核心理念与挑战，激发了对供应链领域的浓厚兴趣。

On 4 December, Dr Lin Xiong and Dr Yuelin Shen from the School of Intelligent Finance and Business led Year 1 students in the "Supply Chain Exploration: The Beer Game". The Beer Game is a classic supply chain strategy game. During the event, students took on roles as manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers, gaining a hands-on understanding of supply chain operations through role-playing. The engaging and intellectually stimulating game provided an immersive experience for students to explore the core principles and challenges of supply chain management, sparking a strong interest in the field.

On 5 December, the 7th Jiangsu Province College Student Financial Festival campus event was simultaneously held at the J Building of the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). This event was co-hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Jiangsu Regulatory Bureau of National Financial Regulatory Administration, the Jiangsu Branch of the People's Bank of China, the Jiangsu Regulatory Bureau of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Jiangsu Local Financial Regulatory Bureau, and the Xinhua Daily, and organized by IFAS, the student club of the School of Intelligent Finance and Business.

On 10 December, Dr Svetoslav Georgiev (IFB) gave a presentation on using GenAI to enhance teaching materials. This presentation was part of the “AI in Higher Education” workshop organised by Dr. Georgiev and his colleague, Joseph Tinsley (EDU). Their project, “AI & Teaching Materials”, is funded by the Academy of Future Education.

On 17 December, the School of Intelligent Finance and Business successfully hosted a lecture titled "Do Customers Play a Corporate Governance Role?" . The event featured Dr. Xiaoke Ye, Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Liverpool Management School, as the keynote speaker. The lecture provided an in-depth exploration of the potential impact of customers on corporate governance, offering fresh research perspectives and valuable academic insights for both faculty and students.

On 19 December, School of Intelligent Finance and Business (IFB) held a seminar on the National Natural Science Foundation of China. At the seminar, Professor Junsong Chen, the Dean of IFB, delivered the opening speech. Dr. Yuelin Shen, Dr. Bin Hao from IFB, and invited guest Professor Fan Ziying, the Dean of the School of Public Economics and Administration at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, served as advisors. The attendees actively engaged in in-depth academic discussions on cutting-edge issues in finance, supply chain management, and marketing.

12月24日，产金融合学院成功举办了一场主题为 “穿梭古今，对话世界” 的汉文化趣味讲座。本次讲座通过生动的课堂内容与汉服试穿环节，带领师生探索传统汉服汉礼的历史传承，激发了学生们对传统文化的兴趣与思考，促进了跨文化交流的深入理解。

On 24 December, the School of Intelligent Finance and Business successfully hosted a lecture titled "Exploring the Past and Present: A Dialogue with the World." The lecture featured engaging content and a hands-on Hanfu try-on experience, guiding students and staff to explore the historical heritage of traditional Hanfu, Han etiquette, and Han culture. The event sparked students' interest in and reflections on traditional culture, fostering a deeper understanding of cross-cultural communication.
