西浦创业家学院（太仓）创新工场成立仪式圆满成功

Innovation Factory Launch Ceremony was Successfully Held

11月27日，西浦创业家学院（太仓）创新工场以“聚焦新兴科技，营造创新生态圈”为主题，成功举办成立仪式。活动汇聚行业领袖、学者、校内外合作伙伴，共同见证了一重要时刻。西浦执行校长席酉民教授，作为创新工场理念的提出者和推动者，分享了他对未来人才培养的见解以及对融合式教育发展的殷切期望。西交利物浦大学首席教育官、西浦创业家学院（太仓）领导小组组长张晓军教授详细介绍了他对创新工场未来战略发展规划的构想。此外，活动还特邀奇绩创谈投资与运营负责人董科含先生，以及学生创业团队，分享了自己的创业经历和行业见解。

创新工场的启动标志着其正式迈入运营新阶段，将以创新、创业、融合教育为核心，依托西浦2.0模式与多方资源，加速技术创新与产品开发，为学生提供创新实践平台，助力想法落地。同期，由创新工场与浦创汇联合举办的“创新周”于11月25日至30日举行，为全体西浦师生搭建了一个创意展示与实践的平台。

Innovation Factory launch ceremony themed ‘Empowering Innovative Minds to Create Technology Innovation Ecosystem’ was successfully held on 27 November.

The event aimed to establish closer connections with industry leaders, external partners, scholars from both within and outside the university, and other internal platforms to jointly witness this milestone in the development of the Innovation Factory. The Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Professor Youmin Xi, who is the proponent and promoter of the Innovation Factory, shared his profound insights on future talent cultivation and his expectations for the development of Syntegrative Education. Professor Xiaojun Zhang, the leader of the Entrepreneur College (Taicang) leadership team, detailed his vision for the strategic development plan of the Innovation Factory. In addition, the event specially invited Mr. Dong Kehan, the head of investment and operations at Miracle Plus, as well as student entrepreneurial teams, to share their entrepreneurial experiences and industry insights.

The Innovation Factory will focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and education integration, providing students with a platform to bring ideas to life. From November 25 to 30, the “Innovation Week” offered staff and students opportunities to showcase creativity and engage in hands-on projects.

RMIT Students Group Visits XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) to Explore Future-Oriented Business Solutions

10月27日，来自皇家墨尔本理工大学的15名EMBA/MBA学生来到西浦创业家学院（太仓），开启为期一周的短期访学项目。西浦创业家学院（太仓）整合长三角资源，为学生提供跨文化领导力课程，结合创业理论、创新精神与实践，通过课程学习、企业参访和项目交流等多维度的活动，全面提升学生的创新创业能力。

访学期间，学生们参访了蔚来、泛微集团、药明生物等知名企业，深入了解企业运营与市场环境。10月30日，学生们还与浦创汇项目团队展开深入交流，浦创汇主任Mikhail博士介绍了初创企业中心的发展情况，团队还分享了正在开展的创新创业项目，与皇家墨尔本理工大学学子进行互动探讨。

On October 27, 15 EMBA/MBA students from RMIT University arrived at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) for a one-week study programme. The college leveraged resources across the Yangtze River Delta to offer courses on cross-cultural leadership, combined with entrepreneurship theories, innovation practices, and hands-on activities. Through a mix of coursework, company visits, and project exchanges, the programme aimed to enhance the students’ entrepreneurial skills and innovative thinking.

During the visit, the students toured leading companies such as NIO, Fanwei Group, and WuXi Biologics to gain insights into business operations and market dynamics. On 30 October, they engaged in the Demo Day with the X³ Co-Venture project teams. Dr. Mikhail, Director of X³ Co-Venture outlined the development of the startup hub, while the team showcased ongoing innovation and entrepreneurship projects to the RMIT students, leading to in-depth exchanges.

IFB-Hub Recognition and Awards Event

11月19日，产金融合学院举办了第一期产金阁项目评比分享活动。在活动上，产金融合学院院长陈峻松教授致开场致辞，各决赛队伍进行了陈述展示与现场问答。通过该项目，学生们得以结合理论知识与实际案例，从而提升解决问题的能力。同时，该项目也有助于培养学生的创新思维和团队合作精神，为他们未来的职业发展奠定了坚实的基础。

On 19 November, IFB held the first phase of IFB-Hub Recognition and Awards Event. During the event, Professor Junsong Chen, the Dean of IFB, delivered the opening speech, and the finalist teams presented and participated in live Q&A sessions. Through this project, students were able to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical cases and enhance their problem-solving abilities. This also helps cultivate students’ innovative thinking and teamwork spirit, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.

人工智能与先进计算学院五大新实验室正式启用 

Five New Labs Officially Launched by School of AI and Advanced Computing 

五大实验室包括与海之韵合作的AIAC&海之韵无人艇AI实验室、苏州市多模态大数据创新应用实验室、元宇宙科研实验室、数字健康AI实验室和生物医学AI实验室，均体现学院与政府、行业领先企业的深度合作，旨在推动前沿科技研究和创新人才培养。实验室的启用将进一步促进学院在人工智能、大数据、元宇宙、数字健康和生物医学等领域的教学与科研工作，为学生提供实践操作和创新项目的平台，同时加强与国内外合作伙伴的科研交流与合作。 

The labs including AIAC & CrossOcean USV Lab, Suzhou Multimodal Big Data Innovation Application Lab, Metaverse Research Lab, AI for Digital Health Lab, Biomedical AI Lab These new laboratories, which reflect the in-depth cooperation with the government and leading enterprises in the industry, aim to promote cutting-edge technology research and innovative talent cultivation. The launch of these laboratories will further promote the teaching and research work in the fields of AI, big data, metaverse, digital health, and biomedical science, providing students with a platform for practical operation and innovative projects, while strengthening scientific research exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international partners.

IFB Industry Day—— “ESG Transformation, Building Sustainable Value Chain” Forum

10月31日, 西浦产金融合学院携手HiESG与商道咨询联合举办行业日系列活动——「ESG转型，构建可持续价值链」论坛。产金融合学院院长陈峻松教授为论坛致开幕词，张云路副教授担任论坛主持，王以成博士出席圆桌论坛。论坛吸引了近50位来自企业界、学界和社会机构等的代表出席线下论坛，数百位观众观看线上直播。

On 31 October, the School of Intelligent and Finance Business, in collaboration with HiESG and Syntao, jointly held the "ESG Transformation, Building Sustainable Value Chain" Industry Day. Professor Junsong Chen, the Dean of IFB, delivered a welcome speech, and the event was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Yunlu Zhang, with Dr. Yicheng Wang attending the roundtable forum. The forum attracted nearly 50 representatives from the industry, academia, and social organizations to attend the offline forum, while several hundred viewers watched the online live broadcast.

On 5 November, Professor Junsong Chen, Dean of IFB, and faculty representatives warmly welcomed Professor Paul Kalfadellis, Associate Dean of International Partnerships and an Associate Professor in International Business, as well as Ms. Tracy de Silva, Senior Coordinator of Global Programs and Partnerships at Monash Business School, and Mr. Huy Bui, Senior Student Services Officer. They visited the GREA Technology Intelligent Supply Chain Laboratory together, gaining a deeper understanding of the IFB’s teaching facilities and academic atmosphere.

11月15日，产金融合学院Serdar Durmusoglu教授出席SHNU-UVU-UCA商科国际教育论坛。本次论坛的主题是“人工智能时代商科教育的挑战与机遇” ，聚焦于人工智能时代商科教育的挑战与机遇，旨在探讨人工智能对商业教育的变革性影响，以及如何培养具备人工智能素养和创新能力的复合型人才。在论坛中，作为主讲人的Serdar Durmusoglu教授不仅发表了富有洞见的演讲，还受邀参加了圆桌会谈，与参会者共同交流和讨论。

On 15 November, Professor Serdar Durmusoglu from IFB attended the SHNU-UVU-UCA International Teaching Forum on Business Education. The theme of the forum was “Challenges and Opportunities in Business Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” The forum focused on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on business education and aimed to explore how to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with AI literacy and innovation capabilities. During the forum, as a keynote speaker, Professor Serdar Durmusoglu not only delivered an insightful speech but also participated in a roundtable discussion, engaging in exchanges and discussions with other participants.

2024年11月8日，智造生态学院的Gomesh Nair博士和商务拓展经理陈炜博士受邀出席了在临沂科技职业学院举行的“齐鲁国际讲堂”学术交流活动。Gomesh Nair博士在会上进行了题为“智能产业助力智慧未来，人工智能与机器人技术在工业领域的融合”的主题演讲并荣获“临沂招才引智顾问”聘书，同现场与会者共同探讨了科技成果转化新路径、产教融合发展新思路。

On November 8, 2024, Dr Gomesh Nair and Business Development Manager Dr Wei Chen were invited to the Qilu International Lecture Series held by Linyi Vocational University of Science and Technology. Dr Gomesh Nair delivered a speech about 'Smart Industries for a Smart Future: Integrating AI and Robotics in Industrial Landscape' as the keynote speaker, received 'Talent Recruitment and Intellectual Consultancy Appointment Letter', and discussed with the participants about the intelligent manufacturing industry-education integration development.

郑锦扬同学与浙江大学、北京邮电大学和北京科技大学一起合作了论文Vision Transformer-Based Recognition of Chinese Cursive Calligraphy: A Curriculum Learning and Skeleton Embedding Approach，该论文最终被第二届机器学习与自动化国际会议（CONF-MLA 2024）接收发表。

Jinyang Zheng, together with students from Zhejiang University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and the University of Science and Technology Beijing, worked together to write a paper Vision Transformer-Based Recognition of Chinese Cursive Calligraphy: A Curriculum Learning and Skeleton Embedding Approach, which was accepted by the 2nd International Conference on Machine Learning and Automation (CONF-MLA 2024).

X³ Co-Venture Project EyeTech Debuts at ‘AI+Future Industries’ Demo Day, Empowering Visually Impaired Individuals to Embrace Technology

11月8日，姑苏实验室与加州大学洛杉矶分校苏州研究院联合举办的“AI+未来产业”专场路演活动中，浦创汇项目组循迹辅亮相，并获得了在场投资商的高度认可。循迹致力于研发专为视障人士设计的创新产品，通过利用先进的人工智能技术，为视障群体提供便捷的日常生活辅助，为他们创造更加平等、便捷的生活环境。

On 8 November, the “AI+ Future Industry” Demo Day, jointly organized by Gusu Lab and SIP-UCLA Institute for Technology Advancement, witnessed the impressive debut of the X³ Co-Venture incubated team EyeTech. By utilizing advanced artificial intelligence technology, EyeTech provides solutions for the visually impaired people and provide convenient daily life assistance to create a more equal and accessible living environment for this community. The team received high recognition from investors present at the event, showcasing the power of technology and its potential to create a more inclusive and accessible environment.

Innovation Factory Successfully Held Patent Innovation Hackathon

11月25日创新工场成功举办专利创新黑客马拉松活动。活动旨在向同学们展示学校部分可用的专利资源，鼓励大家在创新工场的支持下，对这些专利进行原型机开发，并探索潜在的商业市场。知识产权服务中心的黄建辉老师向大家详细介绍了学校现有的专利资源。随后同学们根据自己的兴趣选择行业和专利，分组进行讨论，并跨学院、跨学科组建团队。最后同学们分享了自己创新想法和运营计划。活动向同学们详细介绍了创新工场以及专利创新项目，为他们提供了一个开启创新创业之旅的起点，并助力他们为未来的职业发展打下坚实的基础。

Innovation Factory successfully held Patent Innovation Hackathon on 25 November. This programme aims to empower students' access part of patents from the University and develop product. We encourage students to rapid prototyping, research potential market needs with the support from Innovation Factory.

Mr. Huang Jianhui from the Intellectual Property Service Center provided a detailed introduction to the school's existing patent resources. Subsequently, students selected industries and patents based on their interests, grouped for discussions, and formed interdisciplinary teams across different schools. In the end, students shared their innovative ideas and operational plans. This event provided a detailed introduction to Innovation Factory and patent innovation programme for the students, offering them a starting point for their journey into innovation and entrepreneurship, and helping to lay a solid foundation for their future career development.

XEC Innovation Showcase—Innovation is Everywhere: Igniting Innovation Spark, Inspiring Entrepreneurial Dreams

11月26日，创新工场联合浦创汇以及西浦创业家学院旗下的七大产业学院，共同举办了一场创新成果展示活动。在此次活动中，学生们展出了他们在创新创业项目、创新产品、研究方面的最新成果，包括FYP（毕业设计项目）、Capstone（本科生创新创业辅修课程的毕业设计顶点项目）以及SURF 2024（暑期本科生研究项目）中的优秀作品。活动不仅向新生们展示了如何从零开始构建创新项目，更激发了他们的好奇心和探索精神。

The Innovation Factory and X³ Co-Venture are teaming up with the seven industry schools of XEC to showcase outstanding student innovation and entrepreneurship projects, innovative products, research, as well as excellent FYPs (Final Year Projects), Capstone projects (undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship graduation projects), and SURF 2024 (Summer Undergraduate Research Projects). This showcase event not only demonstrated to Year 1 students how to build innovative projects from scratch but also sparked their curiosity and spirit of exploration.

A Memorable Review of the XJTLU Technology Entrepreneurship Sharing Session

11月28日，西浦科技创业分享会圆满落幕。本次活动荣幸邀请了曾在校园内启航创业之旅的杰出校友和经验丰富的创业导师重返校园，与同学们分享他们的创业心路历程和行业见解。同时，活动特别安排了茶话会环节，让同学们有机会与校友近距离交流，共同探讨未来的创新创业和职业发展之路。

XJTLU Technology Entrepreneurship Sharing Session concluded successfully on 28 November. This event had the honor of inviting distinguished alumni who embarked on their entrepreneurial journey on campus, along with experienced entrepreneurship mentors, to return and share their entrepreneurial experiences and industry insights with the students. Additionally, tea break session was specially arranged, allowing students the opportunity to engage in close communicate with alumni and discuss future innovation, entrepreneurship, and career development.

The Unmanned Boat Business Plan Competition Concludes Successfully: Participating Teams Showcase Innovative Spirit

西交利物浦大学浦创智能无人船商业企划挑战赛于11月30日圆满落幕，17支团队同台竞技，展示无人船项目的创新理念。本次活动旨在激发学生创新思维和创业热情，通过路演、互动交流等形式，碰撞灵感，启迪创新。

参赛团队积极展示项目理解与创意发展，并与观众互动交流，碰撞思想火花，激发创新灵感。活动当天，西交利物浦大学首席教育官、西浦创业家学院（太仓）领导小组组长张晓军教授发表致辞，鼓励学生积极参与SME项目，将所学知识应用于实践，为未来发展积淀能量。浦创汇将携手运营团队，深化交流培训，不断完善无人船项目发展，为西浦创新添彩。

Unmanned Boat Business Plan Competition, organized by X³ Co-Venture concluded successfully on 30 November, with 17 teams showcasing their innovative ideas for unmanned boat projects. The event aimed to inspire students’ innovative thinking and entrepreneurial passion, fostering creativity through presentations, interactive exchanges, and idea collisions.

The participating teams actively demonstrated their understanding of the project and creative development, engaging in meaningful discussions with the audience to spark innovative ideas and inspiration.

During the event, Professor Xiaojun Zhang, Chief Officer of Education of XJTLU, Leader of Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Leadership Team, delivered a speech encouraging students to actively participate in SME projects, applying their knowledge to practical experience and laying a solid foundation for future development.

X³ Co-Venture will collaborate with the operating team to deepen communication and training, continuously improving the development of the unmanned boat project, adding a splash of innovation to XJTLU.

School of CHIPS organised a company visit to Gusu Lab in Suzhou

11月13日芯片学院2022级本科生及2024级研究生代表前往苏州市姑苏实验室参观访问。通过实地参观，同学们直观地了解芯片行业、姑苏实验室的运营模式、工作流程和行业不同岗位职责，有助于他们建立对后期就业的初步认知，为未来的职业规划打下坚实基础。

Through the field trip, students intuitively understand the chip industry, the operation mode of Gusu Lab, the workflow, and the different job responsibilities in the industry, which helps them to build up a preliminary knowledge of later employment and lay a solid foundation for future career planning.

In order to deepen the collaboration between the school and the industry, enabling students to better understand the latest developments in IoT and the demands of enterprises, thus laying a solid foundation for their future career development, on 30 October and 22 November, faculty and students from School of Internet of Things, visited Shanghai NIO Experience Center and Ennoconn Technology in Suzhou separately to engage in academic exchange activities.

In November, the School of Internet of Things invited three distinguished industry experts to deliver the guest lectures with the themes "GenAI Technology Insight" "The Age of Digital Intelligence in the Generation after 00s" and "Application of Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Anomaly Detection". These lectures aimed to enhance the knowledge of the faculty and students and stimulate their contemplation of IoT technology and the future.

On 1 November, IFB held a seminar on the National Natural Science Foundation of China. At the seminar, Professor Junsong Chen, the Dean of IFB, delivered the opening speech. Dr. Yuelin Shen, Dr. Bin Hao from IFB, and invited guest Professor Xiaoneng Zhu from the School of Finance at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, served as advisors. The attendees actively engaged in in-depth academic discussions on cutting-edge issues in finance, supply chain management, and marketing.

11月7日，产金融合学院数字化商业硕士专业供应链方向的同学们在向梦园博士的带领下参观了位于常熟的安吉智行物流（苏州）有限公司。在专业人士的带领下，同学们深入了解了先进的物流系统和汽车制造流程。工厂的高度自动化给他们留下了深刻印象，也激发了同学们对供应链和制造业的浓厚兴趣。

On 7 November, Dr. Mengyuan Xiang, programme director of MSc Digital Business programme organized a company visit for students specialising in supply chain management pathway to Anji-ceva Logistics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd located in Changshu. Led by industry professionals, the students gained in-depth insights into advanced logistics systems and automobile manufacturing processes. The high level of factory automation left a deep impression on them and sparked a strong interest in supply chain and manufacturing.

On 8 November, Dr. Yuelin Shen from IFB led Year 1 students of the Master of Digital Business to attend CeMAT ASIA 2024 in Shanghai. Through the visit, the students gained in-depth understanding of the smart logistics technology in high-end manufacturing, accumulating valuable experience for their future studies and research.

On 13 November, IFB and Soochow Securities jointly held a seminar on "China's Capital Market Reform and Career Planning in the Securities Industry". During the event, Hong Zhao, the General Manager of the Taicang People’s South Road Branch of Soochow Securities, Xiufang Yang, the Compliance and Risk Control Officer, as well as the Investor Education Commissioner, and the keynote speaker, Investment Advisor Zhi Li provided detailed insights into the current trends in the capital market and future employment prospects, offering students comprehensive advice and specific guidance on industry career planning.

Staffs and students were actively involved, learning new skills and relieving academic pressure. More importantly, the activity strengthened the relationship between teachers and students and promoted their communication.

On 28 November, School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem successfully held “Play Cyber Mud” activity. Students in Taicang campus were invited to participate in interactive mini-games, including crafting Christmas Tree with Nomad software, stocking cat challenge and claw machine. Students actively signed up to participate in the game and experience the endless joy of 3D printing.

智能机器人学院师生近期参访了多家企业，以探索教学、研究和产业合作的新机遇。11月4日至8日，张帆博士访问深圳的飞利浦和港通医疗，讨论合作事宜。10月28日，学院组织硕士生参访太仓博泽公司，实地了解智能机器人产业应用，为未来合作打下基础。此外，学院师生还访问了上海擎朗科技公司，受到高管热情接待，进一步加深了双方的了解，为合作奠定基础。这些活动不仅加强了学院与企业的联系，也为学生提供了实践学习的机会。

Recently, the academic staff and students of the School of Robotics have been actively visiting various industries to explore new opportunities for teaching, research, and industrial cooperation. From 4 to 8 November, Dr Fan Zhang visited Philips and Gangtong Medical in Shenzhen to discuss collaboration. On 28 October, the school organized a visit to Brose Taicang for master's students to gain hands-on understanding of the applications of intelligent robotics in the industry, laying the groundwork for future cooperation. Additionally, the school's faculty and students visited Keenon Robotics in Shanghai, where they were warmly received by the company's executives, further deepening mutual understanding and laying the foundation for future collaboration. These activities have not only strengthened the school's ties with enterprises but also provided students with practical learning experiences.

Co-hosted by the XJTLU Social Entrepreneurship Research Center and Pula Valley, the "Nurture Myself - Trendy Wine Design Competition" successfully concluded. After intense competition, 15 designers, embodying the core concept of "Nurture Myself," advanced to the finals, showcasing extraordinary creativity and talent, and injecting new vitality into wine brand innovation.

On November 26th, The BA Arts, Technology and Entertainment with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism programme successfully hosted a fascinating guest lecture on "Crafting the Future: Virtual Production and AI in Visual Storytelling". Industry experts delved into the breakthroughs and potential of virtual production and AI technology in creative content creation. The lecture was held in G1006 on the XEC campus and was simultaneously opened to global audiences via Tencent Meeting. MICCAI COSAS 2024 was Successfully Held by School of AI and Advanced Computing

由西交利物浦大学人工智能与先进计算学院联合上海交通大学附属瑞金医院、深圳大学大数据系统计算技术国家工程实验室、广西医科大学以及上海市衡道病理医学诊断中心共同主办的2024年MICCAI COSAS国际挑战赛，于10月5日在摩洛哥马拉喀什举办的MICCAI国际医学图像计算与计算机辅助干预会议上圆满落幕。挑战赛主席刘净心博士主持了赛事总结并为获奖选手颁发奖项。

The 2024 MICCAI COSAS International Challenge, jointly organized by the School of AI and Advanced Computing at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology at Shenzhen University, Guangxi Medical University, and Shanghai HISTO Pathology Diagnostic Center, successfully concluded on October 5th during the MICCAI Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention in Marrakesh, Morocco. Dr. Jingxin Liu, the challenge chair, gave a summary of the event and presented awards to the participants.
