XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Short Course/Exchange Programme for undergraduate and master’s students has opened for applications. The programme offers interdisciplinary, innovative entrepreneurial training, with access to top global faculty and strong partnerships with industry. Located in the advantageous Yangtze River Delta region, students with innovative ideas or entrepreneurial projects may have opportunities to join the university’s incubator (X³ Co-Venture) and Innovation Factory.
Introduction
Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is an international joint venture university founded by Xi'an Jiaotong University in China and the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. As an independent Sino-foreign cooperative university approved by the Ministry of Education in China, it captures the essence of both prestigious parent universities. It is currently the largest Sino-foreign cooperative university in China, offering both Chinese bachelor's degrees and degree-awarding authority from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) (XEC) is a strategic initiative of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University to explore how to cultivate talents that meet the needs of future societal development in the era of Industry 4.0. The College's theme is syntegration and symbiosis, and it aims to nurture international industry elites building upon the educational philosophy of Syntegrative Education. The Syntegrative Education integrates general education, professional education, industry-specific education, entrepreneurship education, and management and leadership education through deep collaboration with businesses, industries, and society. This approach is designed to help prepare future leaders for challenges from disruptive technology, rapid innovation, and shifting market demand.
The XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) focuses on key industries that will have a major impact on the future of humanity. Partnering with renowned enterprises both domestically and internationally, it has established seven industry schools and the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub. These resources are integrated with social, industry, and community resources, forming a comprehensive space for innovation, research and development, entrepreneurship, and collaborative learning. Students, scholars, and companies come together here to engage in academic courses and research projects, aimed at solving technical challenges within industries and exploring new concepts and models for the future university.
Currently, the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) offers seven undergraduate programmes and six master’s programmes.
Additionally, to inspire student creativity and support the transformation of ideas into real outcomes, the college has established two platforms: X³ Co-Venture and Innovation Factory. The X³ Co-Venture focuses on incubating and accelerating startup projects, providing comprehensive support from ideation to commercialization. Innovation Factory is dedicated to turning student ideas into tangible products and technical solutions. Together, these platforms form a complete support system for innovation and entrepreneurship at XEC, fully supporting student to create greater societal value.
