Wells Fargo Bank is no stranger to discreditable behavior, and the latest scandal is out of an office in Arizona where an employee was reportedly dead at her desk for four days unnoticed.

At 7 a.m. on Aug. 16, Denise Prudhomme, 60, entered the Wells Fargo building for work, and on Aug. 20, the building security called authorities after finding an unresponsive employee.

Prudhomme was pronounced dead when they arrived at the building.

A Wells Fargo employee told 12 News CBS Arizona that a colleague actually found Prudhomme dead at her desk in a cubicle while walking around the building while also stating her cubicle was away from the central aisle of cubicles on the third floor.

“Several people smelled a foul odor but passed it off as faulty plumbing,” the employee stated in the report. “The building has 24/7 security and someone should have found Prudhomme sooner.”

Employees reported Wells Fargo was not forthcoming with information to staff.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Denise Prudhomme,” said a Wells Fargo spokesperson, Ruben Pulido. “Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well supported during this difficult time.”

Wells Fargo is reviewing its internal procedures regarding their employees’ safety and wellness following Prudhomme’s death. Pulido said in the report that counselors were made available to affected employees.
