South Korean police have launched an investigation after a live bullet was found inside the hand luggage of a Korean Air flight attendant during a routine baggage inspection at Incheon International Airport. The discovery has raised significant security concerns and sparked a wave of reactions on social media.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the incident occurred at 7:30 am on Tuesday, July 2, when a 7.62-millimeter-caliber live round was discovered in the carry-on bag of a female flight attendant preparing to board a Korean Air flight bound for Bangkok. The airport police, who reported the incident on Thursday, July 4, immediately collected the live bullet. Despite the severity of the situation, they permitted the flight attendant to continue her journey as planned.

Authorities have indicated that they will summon the flight attendant for questioning upon her return from Bangkok. The investigation aims to determine how the live ammunition ended up in her possession and whether there are any security breaches or criminal intentions involved.

This incident follows a similar one in March, when two live bullets were found under a passenger seat on a Korean Air plane preparing to take off for Manila, the Philippines. That discovery led to the evacuation of over 200 passengers.

The recent discovery has prompted widespread discussion on social media, with many netizens expressing their shock and concern. One user commented, "How does something like this even happen? It's terrifying to think about the potential risks." Another remarked, "This raises serious questions about airport security measures. If a flight attendant can carry a live bullet, what about regular passengers?" A third user shared a more skeptical view, saying, "Is it really just a coincidence that bullets keep turning up on Korean Air flights? I think there's more to this story."

Airport officials and the police have reassured the public that they are taking the matter seriously. They are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure that such security lapses do not occur in the future. In the wake of this incident, there have been calls for stricter security checks and more rigorous training for airline staff to prevent similar occurrences.
