How far have we come in thirty years?
CEIBS began full of talent and potential, beginning its entrepreneurial journey with small, humble steps.
Through wind and rain, we’ve met the challenges and answered the call of an ever-changing world.
With campuses across five cities and three continents, we’ve bridged East and West with intellectual wisdom and determination, from both sides of the globe.
Now, with over 30,000 alumni across the world, we aim even higher, striving for success beyond mere achievements in management education.
On November 8,1994, with strong support from the Chinese government and European Union (EU) and driven by the Shanghai Municipal Government and the European Commission, CEIBS was established with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) serving as its executive partners, ushering in a new chapter in management education in China. Over the past 30 years, CEIBS has grown in tandem with the Chinese economy and developed through China’s integration with the rest of the world. Committed to educating responsible leaders versed in ‘China Depth, Global Breadth’ in line with its motto of ‘Conscientiousness, Innovation and Excellence’, CEIBS has achieved remarkable success in global management education and acted as a vital bridge for facilitating economic and cultural exchange between China, Europe and the world. Now, it is our mission to become the most respected international business school in the world.
