In a bizarre turn of events that has left many Chinese netizens bewildered, a woman is demanding compensation after her grandson fell ill from eating vegetables she had stolen from her neighbor's garden.
The incident, which was captured on video and has since gone viral on Chinese social media, unfolded in a small community where a resident had been growing green beans in her garden. To protect her crop from pests, the gardener had sprayed the beans with pesticide.
Unbeknownst to the gardener, her neighbor entered the garden without permission and picked some of the green beans. The neighbor then cooked the stolen vegetables with meat and served them to her family. Shortly after consuming the meal, her grandson began experiencing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea, necessitating a trip to the hospital.
In an unexpected twist, instead of apologizing for the theft, the neighbor confronted the gardener and demanded at least 20,000 yuan (approximately $3,100) in compensation for medical expenses.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar case that made headlines recently, where a man's food deliveries were repeatedly stolen. In response, he began requesting extra-spicy meals. When a young boy from the same floor stole and ate one of these extremely spicy meals, he ended up in the hospital. Shockingly, the boy's parents sought compensation from the man who had ordered the food.
