The position is for a Data Science Researcher to work on an ambitious and innovative project between the University of Southampton and Align-Alytics. The project combines commercial practice with academic research, focusing on advancing Align-Alytics' revenue management systems and introducing new approaches in the travel and leisure sector.

Employment: You'll be employed by University of Southampton for the duration of the project andbe based in Holborn, London at AlignAlytics' offices. This is a full time, fixed-term role for 24-monthwith the potential to permanently join AlignAlytics after completion of the project.
About the department: CORMSlS combines the Analytics, Business and Technology capabilitiesthat modern businesses need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. You will be part of asupportive network of 50+ Research Associates within CORMSlS.
Role Specifics: You will need to feel comfortable working on technical projects at the interfacebetween academic research and commercial practice. Specifically, you will be required toundertake the following:
Take the lead in identifying opportunities to add value and market competitiveness to theRevenue Management System platform through employing established analytical methods.
Develop and implement proof-of-concept algorithms tailored to industry requirements
Support the commercial launch of the RMS platform, including technical documentationsystem handover, and client training.
Project Management & Stakeholder Management.
Communication of key ideas to commercial and academic partners, and potentially end users

Relevant Qualifications in Advanced Analytical methods (likely PhD or equivalent professionalqualifications and experience, though exceptional Masters may be considered).
Analytics coding skills (Python desirable).
Experience or knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Interest in understanding and solving complex mathematical and statistical problems.
Confident communication skills for internal and external stakeholder /customer interaction.Although 'nice-to-have’, previous exposure to commercial and revenue management analyticstechniques is NOT a prerequisite
