On December 13, 2024, Harbin Ice and Snow World hosted a unique English training session. Lucy Qi, a Canadian teacher from the Department of Economics and Management at Heilongjiang International University, was invited to this enchanting winter wonderland to deliver an engaging and practical English skills training for volunteers preparing to serve international visitors during the park’s opening.
本次培训旨在提升志愿者的英语交流能力，确保他们以最专业的姿态迎接来自世界各地的游客，感受中国的魅力与活力。Lucy老师凭借其深厚的跨文化交流背景和流利的英语表达，围绕日常交流、美食推荐、紧急情况应对等关键主题，通过互动式教学与情景模拟等生动有趣的方式，使志愿者们在轻松愉悦的氛围中掌握实用的英语表达技巧。
The training aimed to enhance the volunteers’ English communication skills, ensuring they could professionally welcome visitors from around the globe and showcase China’s charm and vitality. With her extensive background in cross-cultural communication and fluent English, Lucy focused on essential topics such as everyday interactions, food recommendations, and emergency responses. Using interactive teaching and situational simulations, she helped volunteers acquire practical English expressions in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

At the beginning of the training, Lucy encouraged the volunteers to confidently express themselves in English and deepen their understanding of different cultural backgrounds.
