How the Heart Works
心脏的工作原理
We will start with the basics and examine how the human heart works.

The heart is a muscle about the size of a clenched fist that is located under the rib cage and between the lungs. It is divided into a left side and a right side.
心脏是一块约拳头大小的肌肉，位于胸廓下方，双肺之间。它分为左侧和右侧两个区域。
Each side has two chambers. The upper chambers are called atria and the lower chambers are called ventricles.
每一侧都有两个腔室。两个上腔室称为心房，两个下腔室称为心室。
Blood flows from the atria to the ventricles through one way valves. The atria and the ventricle work together as a team to pump blood through the heart.
血液经由单向瓣膜，从心房流向心室。心房和心室共同作用，泵送心脏血液。
The right atrium receives oxygen depleted blood from the body and pushes it into the right ventricle, which pumps it out to the lungs. Oxygen enriched blood is returned from the lungs to the left atrium which pushes it into the left ventricle, where it is pumped back out to the body.
右心房接收来自身体的贫氧血液，并将其推入右心室，然后泵送到肺；来自肺的富氧血液进入左心房，左心房将血液推入左心室，然后泵回到全身。
After the body has used all the oxygen in the blood, the blood returns to heart and the cycle repeats.

In a normal heart, this sequence occurs sixty to one hundred times per minute. The heart’s beating rhythms are driven by electrical impulses within the heart.

In a normal heart rhythm, electrical signals originate in the heart’s natural pacemaker, the sinoatrial node, also called SA node. These electrical signals travel from the atria to the ventricles in a defined rhythmic pattern. The electrical signals pass through the atrioventricular or AV node.
在正常心脏节律中，电传导信号产生于心脏自然起搏器-窦房结（SA结），这些电传导信号以特定的节律模式，从心房传导到心室。电传导信号通过房室结（AV结）。
The AV node acts as a natural gatekeeper for the heart, through which all the heart’s electrical signals normally pass. The electrical signals then pass through the bundle of His to the purkinje fibers which cause the heart muscles to contract.
