FIRE IN BUSAN | An Air Busan Airbus A321-200, preparing for departure to Hong Kong, caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea, on the evening of January 28, 2025. The fire originated near the aircraft’s tail section. All 176 individuals on board—169 passengers, six crew members, and one engineer—were evacuated using emergency slides. Three passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation and received medical attention.
The fire was fully extinguished approximately an hour after it began. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
This incident follows a recent aviation accident in South Korea. On December 29, 2024, a Jeju Air flight crashed at Muan International Airport, resulting in significant casualties. Preliminary investigations into that crash have found evidence of bird strikes in the plane’s engines, though the specific cause has not yet been determined.

据悉，这架17年机龄的空客A321（HL7763）为从釜山机场 （PUS）飞往香港机场 （HKG）的 BX391 航班。机上搭载169名乘客和7名机组人员，已经确认机上所有人员均已疏散（3人受伤）。现场图片显示，事发飞机已被大火烧毁。
Three people have been injured after fire broke out on an Air Busan aircraft bound for Hong Kong at Gimhae International Airport.
The plane, bound for Hong Kong, carried 176 people: 169 passengers and 7 crew members. All managed to escape via emergency exits.
The fire was reported at 10:26 p.m. in the plane's back upper section. The airport's firefighting team arrived at 10:34 p.m. to begin extinguishing.
A Level 1 emergency response was declared at 10:38 p.m., leading to the mobilization of additional firefighting resources.
Fire officials believe the blaze started inside the aircraft. A thorough search is underway to confirm everyone has been evacuated.
