匹兹堡大学的 Bo Zeng 博士(工程学院)和 Yan Dong 博士(神经科学系)正在联合招募一名博士生,以开发强大而新颖的计算工具并研究支持行为输出的神经动力学。

In behaving animals, initiation and performance of a behavior are mediated by a sequence of neural network activities. During these behavioral outputs, activities of individual neurons can be recorded using advanced techniques in Dr. Dong’s lab, resulting huge data sets of different forms.
The project that Drs. Zeng and Dong have been pushing forward is to understand how activities from individual neurons are organized into network activity patterns that support the behavior. The recruited student will develop novel and powerful computational optimization and AI/ML tools to handle those complex and large data sets, and use them, along with existing ones, to discover the computational themes that individual neurons employ to drive behavior.
Applicants from math, computational science, operations research, or automation are strongly encouraged. Preferences will be given to students with a master’s degree and research experience.
