2024 Victoria x Tough Mudder Challenge Party Review

On November 3rd, the super family of Victoria students, alumni, and their relatives left the city and came to the Shanghai Binhai Forest Park to enjoy the fresh air and take on the challenge. In the previous days, the sudden arrival of Typhoon "Kong-rey" swept across Shanghai, making all the teachers particularly anxious, but it also brought an even more exciting and interesting race track for Victoria's little Mudders!

Helping children become Risk-takers and develop the qualities of being fearless and independent has always been an important part of Victoria's IB curriculum goals. This year's Tough Mudder Challenge, we have upgraded the difficulty of the challenge and designed specialized tracks for different age groups, providing a perfect opportunity for kids to challenge themselves!

Statistics show that participants in this party averaged over 20,000 steps per person, with a total distance exceeding 10,000 kilometers—equivalent to walking from the southernmost point to the northernmost point of China, back and forth!

Before the official start, Dr. Maggie Koong, Chief Principal of Victoria (China) Education Group, Dr. Victor Koong, Chief Principal of Victoria A+ Eduplay, and Ms. Melanie Ng, Executive Director of Victoria (China) Education Group joined the little Mudders for warm-up exercises, cheering them on. 

The 60-year-old Principal Koong also experienced all the obstacles in person, fought side by side with our little Mudders, and accompanied them to complete the entire challenge, conveying the warm care and support.

This quote is perfectly exemplified in the Victoria's little Mudders.

The muddy obstacles did not hinder the determined steps of the little Mudders. They ran, rolled, and jumped in the mud pits. Although their small hands and feet were covered in mud, the pure smiles on their faces were the best proof of their "unafraid of dirt, unafraid of fatigue" qualities.

Facing various challenges, they overcame them with wisdom and teamwork. The heavy logs became lighter when two people worked together, holding each other's hands to form a balanced seesaw, helping the teammates behind them, and walking towards the finish line together... This challenge is not only a physical test, but also a test of wisdom and teamwork.

In the air, the little heroes tightly grasped the iron rings, bravely crossing the obstacles like little Peter Pans. Under the iron net, they delved into the mud pit, kept moving forward with determination. On the slope, they stepped foot by foot to reach the summit, and at this moment, they not only conquered the obstacles, but also surpassed themselves.

The mini mudders from A+ Eduplay melted the hearts of the entire audience! Although their average age is only one and a half years old, their courage and perseverance are no less than their older peers. They did not shrink back in the face of the muddy track, but rather welcomed the challenge with an even more positive attitude.

This year, we specially invited graduates and relatives to reunite with the Victoria family. Different from the pure exploration of the baby champions, their movements are more skilled and steady. Even with their hands covered in mud, their expressions remained calm and composed. Although they occasionally stumbled and fell, they would immediately get up and continue on.

Crossing the finish line, the little Mudders excitedly stepped forward to receive their medals, their faces glowing with pride mixed with sweat and mud.

At this moment, every child is their own superhero. They have successfully defeated the little monsters in their hearts, overcome their fears and uncertainties, and gained stronger bodies and more resilient character.

After conquering obstacles and sweating it out, of course, we couldn’t miss a relaxing camping party! Victoria has prepared a wealth of fun family camping activities for everyone this time!

At the end of the 800-meter energy balloon activity, children's persistence and courage is captured by the balloons as they are dotted among the trees, like daytime fireworks beneath the blue sky.

Experience speed and excitement on the rainbow slide, become good friends with the alpacas and ponies, bubbles swirling around like little fairies, and the laughter and chatter in the camping tents during picnic time... Every family can immerse themselves in nature and share a carefree and happy autumn time!

The babies from A+ also experienced the charm of nature in their own exclusive paradise. They squatted down to interact with the cute chicks; made crowns with leaves; and created pumpkin hedgehogs, demonstrating their boundless creativity. This lush green lawn has become the best stage for them to unleash their true selves.

In the Victoria family, every parent-child activity is a new journey of discovery. Moms and dads exchange parenting experiences and share life moments in a relaxing atmosphere, the children found playmates in the adventures and games, and learned cooperation and sharing. Here, everyone can find a sense of belonging and something to gain.

The 2024 Victoria Tough Mudder Challenge Party was not only a physical challenge, but also a spiritual adventure. Children broke through their limits, while parents witness their growth. We believe that the wonderful moments of this party will become the most precious wealth in our memories, shining brightly in the days to come!
