At Victoria Kindergarten Xuhui, we believe in the power of community and partnership with parents. That’s why we host introductory workshops like today’s session, where new parents got an inside look into our dynamic IBPYP Early Years program. These workshops help parents understand how our inquiry-based curriculum nurtures curiosity and a love for learning right from the start. By learning more about the program, parents can better support their child’s educational journey at home and celebrate milestones together.

IB PYP Curriculum Framework
PYP 是一个灵活的框架，与本地课程要求相融合，以国际化的方式进行教学。使孩子们不仅可以达到本地的教育要求，同时帮助他们培养具有全球视野，以及面对未来所需要的技能。
家长们更深入地了解了探究式课程是如何激发孩子们的好奇心和参与感的。每堂课从一个引发孩子思考的问题或场景开始，鼓励孩子们尝试进行批判性和创造性的思考。孩子们会进入探究式区角，在超学科的活动中动手操作，其中涵盖了数学、科学、社会学、英文、中文、艺术、体育和音乐等多个领域。
The PYP is a flexible framework that integrates the required local curriculum, but it does so in an internationally minded way. This allows our students to meet local educational standards while also developing global perspectives and skills for the future.
Parents gained a deeper understanding of how our inquiry-based lessons are designed to spark curiosity and engagement. Each lesson begins with a provocation (a question or scenario) that encourages students to think critically and creatively. This is followed by inquiry corner time, where students explore hands-on, transdisciplinary activities in subjects like math, science, social studies, English, Chinese, art, PE, and music.

Essential Elements
家长们进一步了解了IB的核心要素：超学科主题、重要概念和学习者培养目标。这些要素指导着我们的教学，帮助孩子们成为具有全球视野的、全面发展的终身学习者。
Parents also gained a better understanding of the IB’s five essential elements: Themes, Concepts, and the Learner Profile. These elements guide our teaching, helping students become well-rounded, lifelong learners with a global perspective.
🧠 动手实践的探究式课堂
Hands-On Provocation
家长们亲身体验了一次真实的“探究式课堂”！近期小班的孩子们正在探索不同的感官，家长们也分成4个小组，正如同孩子们在课堂上一样，分组进行了听觉、触觉、味觉和嗅觉的感官游戏。这是一次身临其境的体验，让家长们能够站在孩子的角度，亲身体验探究式学习的过程。
To wrap up the workshop, parents got to experience a real provocation! As our K1 students are currently learning about the five senses, parents worked in small groups to inquire into hearing, touch, taste, and sound, just like their children do in class. It was a wonderful opportunity for parents to step into the shoes of our young inquirers and understand the process firsthand!
