CDIS Elementary Choir Winter Wonderland
Chengdu
International School is celebrating the holidays on campus and in the
community! Our annual ECC and Elementary Christmas concert was a unique
and meaningful gathering that brought teachers, students, and parents
together to celebrate this wonderful holiday. This year, we enjoyed
delightful musical dances and performances with popular elements, even a
special dramatic poetry reading from our Music Club that brought rhymes
to life by pairing them with sounds.
The
Ritz-Carlton Hotel also invited our second-grade class to perform and
attend their Christmas tree lighting. We hope their songs reach out to
make this season merrier and brighter throughout the community!
First Wave of University Offers Arrives at Léman
Léman International School Chengdu is proud to announce the first wave of university offers for its Year 13 students. Among the highlights, Daniel has been invited to interview for the prestigious Engineering programme at the University of Cambridge, ranked 2nd in the QS World University Rankings 2024. He has also received a pre-admission offer from the University of Manchester, renowned for its excellence in engineering and innovation. Meanwhile, Andrea has secured a pre-acceptance offer from ESCP Business School, consistently ranked among the world’s top 10 business schools.
These achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of our students. Congratulations to Daniel, Andrea, and the Class of 2025! We look forward to more exciting offers in the weeks to come.
QSI Winter Concert Series
QSI International School of Chengdu’s Winter Concert Series is a community favorite. The concerts show the progression of style and talent, which begins with our adorable preschool students and ends with secondary students who are true musicians. It was incredible to watch the students mature before our eyes- from sweet and shy preschoolers to loud and confident upper elementary students.
The first concert was with preschoolers, 5 and 6-year-old students, who wowed us with their songs, hand bells, xylophones, and ukeleles. The 7 to 9-year-olds concert included songs on the melodica, ukelele and recorder. Additionally, their singing was magnificent. These talented students also performed at the Ascott Charity Fair and The Temple House Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The students in the 10yo class, begin learning band instruments and harmonizing. They perform in concert with the upper school students. The difference after even one year of lessons is remarkable. The highlight of the concert series is the secondary band. These students are the ones who chose music as their elective and play like young professionals. Ms. Long and Mr. Bright are the teachers who influence, support, teach, and lead our music program. They install a confidence that goes far beyond the stage. The Themed Winter Camps of MIS are recruiting students aged 5-13 who wish to experience international education, with 60 spots available. First come, first served!
