At approximately 7:00 PM on November 18, the Chengdu Longquanyi Police issued a public report on the incident:
At 1:16 PM on November 18, the police received a call reporting an individual armed with a weapon injuring others on Huiwangling East Road, Damei Subdistrict. Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect.
Preliminary investigations revealed that around 1:00 PM on the same day, the suspect, Zhu (male, 35), was riding an electric two-wheeler on Huiwangling East Road when he had a traffic dispute with the driver of a small car, Jia (female, 34). Accompanying Jia were her husband Wu (35) and her brother Jia (38).
The altercation escalated into a verbal argument and physical scuffle. During the conflict, Zhu used a knife he was carrying to stab Wu. Wu was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite emergency treatment.The suspect, Zhu, has been placed under criminal detention by the police in accordance with the law, and the case is under further investigation.
