• Aside from reciprocal visa-free entry countries, China has continuously expanded its list of unilateral visa-free entry countries since July 2023.
• On November 30th 2024, China announced that it will extend visa-free entry to citizens from nine additional countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia & Romania), and extend the visa-free stay period from the current 15 days to 30 days.
• Below an overview of both unilateral and reciprocal visa-free entry countries.
• Those who do not meet the visa exemption requirements are still required to obtain a visa to China before entering the country.
Unilateral Visa-Free Entry Countriess
Ordinary passport holders from the following countries may enter China visa-free for 30 days for business, tourism, family visit, exchange and transit purposes.

Notes for Reciprocal Visa-Free Entry into China:
Single stay not exceeding 30 days from the date of entry, with a cumulative stay not exceeding 90 days within 180 days.
The visa-free policy is permanent in principle, but will be updated according to future policy changes.
The visa-free policy applies only to entry and exit ports in the Chinese mainland.
