Afternoon Tea Seminar in Support of Regional Cancer Program at Southlake was successfully held
On the afternoon of October 29th, 2024, the Afternoon Tea Seminar hosted by Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc., co-hosted by the Canada China Trade Innovation Alliance (CCTIA) and Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, and supported by the Richmond Hill Board of Trade was successfully held in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The event aims to offer local community and entrepreneurs an invaluable platform dedicated to raising public awareness and attention to health and wellness through the medical education seminar. Additionally, the event supported to raise funds for the Southlake Regional Health Centre Cancer Program.
This seminar is another brand event after the ‘Invest In Ontario Forum’ planned by Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc.. Despite the misty autumn rain, the event attracted nearly a hundred attendees from diverse fields across Canada, including healthcare, education, finance and real estate, representing multiple ethnic communities. Mr. Grenville Pinto, the renowned Ontario violinist gave a heartfelt performance, adding a warm, romantic atmosphere to the autumn afternoon. Additionally, the event raised funds for Southlake Regional Health Centre through sponsorships, silent auction and online donations, with a donation of CAD 5,000 made to support the Regional Cancer Program at Southlake.
As the organizer of the event, Ms.Jaclyn Zhang, President of Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc. warmly welcomed all participants in her opening speech, and sincerely thanked all those who supported the event. She noted that for many years Futurevic has been promoting educational programs, health-care and business exchanges around the world. Since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, the company has actively played its social responsibility, donated personal protective equipment to dozens of hospitals and senior care facilities in Canada, and donated to Mackenzie Health in 2022 to help increase patients' access to health-care services. In 2023, it made another donation to Hill House Hospice to support its expansion and service enhancement. As part of the community, Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc. is committed to advancing "Made in Canada" products, services, culture and education globally, as well as contributing to local economic development and supporting charities through its influence.
This event received strong support from local government and enterprises and organizations. MP Majid Jowhari, MP Leah Taylor Roy, and MP Paul Chiang, MPP Michael Parsa, MPP Daisy Wai, Richmond Hill Mayor David West, Deputy Mayor Godwin Chan, Regional and Local Councillor Joe DiPaola, as well as Ward 3 Councillor Mr. Castro Liu, Ward 4 Councillor Mr. Simon Cui, and Ward 6 Councillor Mr. Michael Shiu send congratulation letters in recognized Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc.'s contributions to the local Canadian community by providing medical knowledge, promoting healthy lifestyles and raising public health awareness through the medical education seminar.
Mr. Errol Da-Re, Chair of the Richmond Hill Board of Trade delivered a speech at the event, commending Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc. for its positive role as a member of the Richmond Hill Board of Trade in supporting the development of local healthcare institutions.

During the keynote speech, Ms. Breanna McGilvray, Manager of the Diagnostic Assessment Unit, Cancer Prevention and Screening & PE at Southlake’s Regional Cancer Centre, was invited to share insights on cancer prevention. Additionally, Dr. Hamed Pashaei, an Internist-Nephrologist from Viva Health Centre, shared information on the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease.
Ms. Patricia McLaughlin, Event Director & Community Partnerships, Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation , expressed her gratitude to Futurevic Global Sourcing Inc. for organizing the event and provided an overview of the development of the Southlake Regional Health Centre, urging more compassionate individuals to contribute to its growth and support.
