Job Summary

World Resources Institute China Office (WRI China) is seeking a Research Analyst Ⅱ for the Food and Natural Resources Program. This position will play a dedicated and analytical role in implement WRI’s food and natural resources projects, especially the global green supply chain research. The successful candidate will conduct research on green supply chain projects, analysis modelling of policy solutions, economic and policy studies, local pilot projects and scaling-up efforts. Strengthen capacity for addressing food and natural resources issues is highly referred


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and conduct research and analysis on policies and practices in the areas of food system with a focus on supply chains (e.g., international trade, soft commodities, forest etc.).

  • Working together with WRI Global teams and WRI China teams, draft or co-draft WRI knowledge products in both English and Chinese, and coordinate publication process.

  • Coordinate and work closely with global and local experts throughout the project delivery.

  • Conduct project implementation and management, including liaising with global and local partners, setting up meetings, tracking progress of the project, financial and payment management of projects, reporting to donors etc.

  • Assist in administrative and project management as needed.

  • Support fundraising-related work of the program.

  • Support other activities as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in agriculture/ food/ environment/ land use/ nature resources or related fields. PhD degree is a plus.

  • Minimum three years of highly relevant and full-time work experience in agriculture/ food/ environment/ land use/ nature resources related fields. Experiences on supply chains related work is a plus.

  • Strong quantitative research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, preferably with publication experience. Modeling and programing skill is a plus.

  • Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment, with good work ethics.

  • Detail-oriented, positive, enthusiastic, and innovative in facing challenges, opportunities, and new tasks.

  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally.

  • Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
