Job Summary
The World Resources Institute (USA) Beijing Representative Office is looking for a highly self-motivated student to be a research intern for Sustainable Transition Center.
As a research intern, you will help provide research, data collection and analysis, and administrative support to the Sustainable Transition Center in China. The intern will contribute to several interdisciplinary and multi-group projects on low-carbon and inclusive urban development in China and internationally. The term will be at least three months, with a minimum of three days per week. Possibility to work on-site is preferred.
Major Responsibilities
1. Research (70%)
Conduct desk research and literature review on low-carbon and inclusive cities, communities, spatial territorial planning, building decarbonization and market mechanisms
Conduct national and subnational policy collection, review and research
Gather, clean and process open sourced urban data
Support other research activities per request
2. Translation and other administrative affairs (30%)
Draft press release and blogs as requested
Assist in copyediting and translating documents per request
Provide administrative support per the request
Qualifications
Enrolled undergraduate (at least Junior) or graduate student towards a degree in Urban Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Policy or related majors
Self-motivated and ability to work independently with little supervision
Familiar with low-carbon and inclusive urban development related subjects, or relevant experience would be preferred (e.g. internships, research projects)
Good written and oral communication skills in both Chinese and English.
