Chinese suona player Liu Wenwen has wowed the audience at the Musikverein Golden Hall in Vienna, Austria with a virtuosic performance on January 8.中国唢呐演奏家刘雯雯于1月8日在奥地利维也纳音乐之友协会金色大厅以精湛的技艺震撼了观众。 Liu is China's first doctoral degree holder in suona, a traditional Chinese double-reeded woodwind instrument, also called dida, known for its loud and high-pitched sound.刘雯雯是中国首位唢呐博士，唢呐是一种中国传统双簧木管乐器，亦称嘀嗒，以其响亮而高亢的音色著称。 She is also a teacher at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.她还是上海音乐学院的一名教师。 The 34-year-old was born into a family of folk suona players in eastern China's Shandong province.这位34岁的演奏家出生于中国东部山东省的一个民间唢呐演奏世家。 Her father is the 7th-generation descendant of small copper suona, and her mother the 12th-generation descendant of suona ka opera, which features using the instrument to mimic human and animal sounds.她的父亲是小型铜唢呐的第七代传人，而母亲则是唢呐咔戏（一种用唢呐模仿人和动物声音的表演形式）的第十二代传人。 A single child, Liu was made to study suona at the age of 4.作为独生子女，刘雯雯自4岁起便被要求学习唢呐。 Liu recalled her parents waking her up every day at 4 to 5am, and "dragging" her to the nearby park to practise the instrument.刘雯雯回忆说，父母每天凌晨4点到5点叫醒她，“拖着”她去附近的公园练习乐器。 Liu said she once rejected suona because her classmates said her family "played at weddings and funerals".刘雯雯曾一度排斥唢呐，因为她的同学说她的家人“在婚礼和葬礼上演奏”。 She changed her mind after listening to suona music played by Liu Ying, professor at Shanghai Conservatory of Music who later became her teacher.在听了上海音乐学院教授、后来成为她老师的刘英演奏的唢呐音乐后，她改变了主意。 Liu said she would listen to Liu Ying's music day and night even while she was eating and asleep.刘雯雯说，她会日夜不停地听刘英的音乐，甚至在吃饭和睡觉时也不例外。 At the age of 13, via a referral, she got to meet Liu Ying, and began studying suona with him.13岁时，经人介绍，她见到了刘英，并开始跟随他学习唢呐。 Liu travelled with her mother every weekend from Shandong to Shanghai.每个周末，刘雯雯都会和母亲从山东赶到上海。 She said her mother could only afford a seat ticket and a standing ticket on the cheapest night train and laid piles of newspapers below her seat for Liu to sleep on during the trip.她说，母亲只能买得起最便宜的夜行列车上的座位票和站票，在座位上铺一堆报纸，让刘雯雯在旅途中躺在上面睡觉。 Her hard work paid off, and Liu was admitted by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2008.她的努力得到了回报，2008年，刘雯雯被上海音乐学院录取。 She then studied suona teaching with professor Liu Ying for her master's degree and continued to study suona performances for her doctoral degree.
