About the Award
Biodiversity is the foundation of ecosystem health and sustainability, and is essential for the survival and development of humanity. The “China's National Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (2023-2030)” released by Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China and approved by The State Council of the People’s Republic of China in 2024 fully demonstrates the significance that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council have placed on biodiversity conservation.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area not only embodies the vision of building a world-class city cluster and an international centre for science and technology innovation, but also carries the responsibility of showcasing and promoting green, and low-carbon transformation and biodiversity conservation.
KPMG China, in alliance with the multiple renowned organisations, officially announce the launch of the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area ESG Biodiversity Corporate Recognition Award”. By recognising outstanding enterprises in biodiversity conservation, the Award aims to leverage the influence of these pioneers to establish an industry benchmark, thereby encouraging more enterprises to join forces in promoting ecological and environmental protection in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and even across the nation!

“Enterprises are not only forerunners for economic development, but are also crucial participants in 'Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth'. Macro policies have provided support and guidance to laying a solid foundation for ecological conservation, and enterprises are the key players in transforming these policy visions into actions.
For the first time, KPMG China has launched the 'Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area ESG Biodiversity Corporate Recognition Award' to recognise outstanding enterprises in the region who have supported biodiversity conservation and management.
This year's National Ecology Day theme is ‘Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development.’ Green development underlies high-quality development, and new quality productive forces embody green productivity. We hope to create a platform to inspire more enterprises to join the ranks of pioneers in ecological conservation. Through the Award, we hope to encourage enterprises to continue to innovate, bravely take up social responsibility, work together to protect biodiversity, and contribute China's wisdom and strength to the ecological and environmental conservation of the Greater Bay Area and even the world. In the path to green transition, we're moving towards the high-quality development goal.”
