A Story of Yuan Longping
Hello，everyone！My name is Zhou Xiaoyuan.I'm in Class 6 Grade 4. Today，I'm going to share a story of Yuan Longping. A few years ago ，there was a clever and hardworking old man .His name was Yuan Longping .At that time，the rice production was very low.Many people did not have enough to eat.When Yuan Longping saw this situation，he was very sad. He though，If I can find a way to make the rice grow ，everyone can eat. So everyday，he would go to the rice fields，looking for the secret of making the rice grow better.One day ，Yuan Longping found a particularly tall rice plant in the rice field.He took care of this special rice plant like a baby.He hoped it would grow better.After many years of hard work. Yuan Longping found a way to make the rice grow more. He developed a new type of rice called hybrid rice .This hybrid rice produces an great amount of rice.Several times more than the previous rice. People grow enough food from this kind of rice to feed everyone. Yuan Longping discoveries helped people all over the would. People call him “the Father of Rice”，because he is like a kind father ，with his wisdom and hard work ，so that everyone can eat enough and live a happy life .
