Address: Bldg D, 753 Yuyuan Lu | All Details

Price: 88-160rmb

Some of the indie scene’s most fraught and youthful acts - bands that wear their hearts on their sleeves and tap into an angst that comes with adolescence take over the stage at Specters courtesy of Luuv Label. Acts include Yuck-invoking, Sarah Records-aspiring emerging indie pop act Alone Together which hits that jangly 90s alt-rock sweet spot oh so well; Hangzhou emo rockers Decision at Night - whose sincerity and love for the genre rings true; and J-pop funk navigators CityNaiveteClub.

Xiao Wang, Rats & Pears

Specters

Address: Bldg D, 753 Yuyuan Lu | All Details

Price: 100-120rmb

With a wildly unyielding collection of songs that touch on everything from the empowerment of women to our detestable consumer society, there’s a rawness to Xiaowang’s tipsy turvy swirl of kawaiicore, punk, J-rock, pop, and then some - mixing vulnerability, seething rage and bubbly exuberance with potent results. The Beijing band is a high-octane cathartic unleashing of bittersweet yet ferocious songs that strike down with vengeance. They’re touring alongside emerging Xi’an post-punk outfit Rats & Pears - freshly signed to Maybe Mars and who excel at taut post-punk packing some heat. Should make for a fine fit with Specters.
