A World of Stories: Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair

The 11th China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) is happening from Nov 15-17, 2024. Known as a top copyright exchange hub for children's books (ages 0 to 16), CCBF is a gathering spot for schoolteachers, parents, book lovers, and industry professionals alike. Expect a lineup of more than 20,000 new titles from 30 countries-a true celebration of children's literature.

With over 200 activities, including lectures, book launches, and signings, you'll have plenty of chances to meet writers, illustrators, and translators. This year's lineup includes big names like Jon Klassen (USA), Ivan Canu (Italy), Cécile Alix (France), and Tango (China). And yes, Jeff Kinney, the creator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, will be there too!

New this year: The "Seal-collecting Adventure" lets attendees collect stamps and redeem prizes by visiting booths and completing activities. It's a treasure hunt for the young and young at heart.

The Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition Exhibition is also back, featuring 66 finalist works from 19 countries. And, for the first time, the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition Yearbook will debut, showcasing cutting-edge illustration art.

At Illustrators Avenue, over 100 young illustrators and designers from 20+ cities will showcase unique publications and artwork. Meanwhile, the "Creative Bazaar" offers a wide selection of creative goods, children's book merch, cute stationery, and toys.

The Children Plus Exhibition focuses on fashion this year, curated by the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Featuring 150 picture books, this exhibition will delve into fashion history, style icons, and classic looks from children's literature. Expect interactive activities where kids can explore and decorate the world through fashion.
