每日原则:不要混淆目标和欲望

合理的目标是你真正需要实现的东西,欲望则是你想要的、但会阻止你实现目标的东西。

欲望通常是直接结果。例如,你的目标也许是体形健美,而你的欲望是吃好吃但不健康的食物。不要误会我的意思,假如你想成为一个整天吃零食、看电视的人,那也可以。你的目标你自己定。但如果你不想成为那样的人,最好不要打开那包薯片。

A proper goal is something that you really need to achieve. Desires are things that you want that can prevent you from reaching your goals.

Typically, desires are first-order consequences. For example, your goal might be physical fitness, while your desire is to eat good-tasting but unhealthy food. Don’t get me wrong, if you want to be a couch potato, that’s fine with me. You can pursue whatever goals you want. But if you don’t want to be a couch potato, then you better not open that bag of chips.
