Cover image: A bottom-up approach has been developed for magnetic regulation of cellular events related to redox balance by generating non-native radical pairs from oxygen. The magnetic field can change the reaction pathway, kinetics and product yields by controlling three spin states of reactive oxygen species represented in an ‘oxygen spin triangle’ (consisting of 3O2, 1O2 and O2•− as shown in the image).
