On December 1, 2024, the CEIBS Global EMBA 2024 cohort concluded their 8-day Opening Residency Module, marking the first step in their 24-month transformative journey. Over the past week, 101 accomplished professionals from diverse backgrounds engaged in deep discussions on topics such as Ethics and Social Responsibility, the Chinese Renaissance and its Global Impact, the Outlook of the Chinese Economy, and an Introduction to Case Methods.
A highlight of the module was the leadership stream led by Professor Katherine Xin, Bayer Chair in Leadership and Associate Dean (Europe) at CEIBS. Through immersive activities, students combined theoretical frameworks with emotional experiences, practicing leadership through outdoor group challenges and reflective exercises. This approach provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of their leadership styles and areas for growth, laying a solid foundation for their ongoing development.
Beyond academics, the module fostered strong bonds among participants, blending intense study with the formation of lifelong friendships.
