The Moments’ On Top is a perfect example of a symphonic soul. Alongside contemporaneous acts from the early 70s - The Chi-lites, The Stylistics, The Delfonics, The Futures, Blue Magic and The Main Ingredient - The Moments exuded all that was compelling about deep, harmony-drenched, string-laden soul. The standout here is undoubtedly “To You With Love”, a floating, tender ballad sung by Harry Ray that features the group’s patented handclap-tambourine combo, sweetly repetitive strings, serene guitar and gentle piano. It was famously sampled by J Dilla for “Last Donut Of The Night” - the gut-wrenching finale to his seminal Donuts. Concentrating solely on its sampled history would do The Moments a huge disservice, but its crucial appearance at the climax of Donuts directed fresh generations of pre-disposed soul fans to the absolute canon. Judged entirely on its merit, it’s one of the most heart-breaking songs of any decade and worth the price of admission alone. It’s the sweetest, most goose-bump-inducing 3 minutes of aural bliss you’re ever likely to be exposed to.

《Welcome 2 Detroit》于 2001 年由 BBE Music 首次发行。这张专辑跳脱出了当时的 HIP HOP，探索于不同风格的同时向底特律致敬。从Kraftwerk的 Tech noir 到非洲的Dub、Jazz funk 、还有Boombap 等，体现了J Dilla 对音乐多元的审美。让听众在不同风格的切换下，坠入 J Dilla 万花筒般的音乐世界里。
今天推荐的曲目 Rico Suave Bossa Nova 是他通过用键盘和鼓机对 Milton Banana Trio 鼓的重塑。更值一提的是为了纪念这张重要唱片发行20周年，BBE Music 发行的特别重制版，其中还包括了 Azymuth 对 Rico Suave Bossa Noca 的翻唱，也证明了世界音乐人对 J Dilla 的认可。
”Welcome 2 Detroit“ was first released by BBE Music in 2001. This album broke away from the hip-hop music type at that time. The album paid tribute to Detroit and explored different styles. From Tech noir inspired by Kraftwerk to African Dub, Jazz-funk, and boom bap, etc., it reflects J Dilla’s diverse aesthetics of music, allowing listeners to fall into J Dilla’s kaleidoscope-like music world by switching between different styles.
Rico Suave Bossa Nova, is his cover of the Milton Banana Trio drums with keyboards and a drum machine. What’s more worth mentioning is that to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of this important record, BBE Music released a special remastered version, which also includes Azymuth‘s cover of Rico Suave Bossa Nova, which also proves the recognition of J Dilla by world musicians.

Soulquarians是一个由Quest Love，D’Angelo和J Dilla发起的一个组织，因为大家都是水瓶座，所以取了这个名。
