Today’s recommendation comes from the soundtrack of the Herbie Hancock, Deee-Lite’s single Groove In The Heart sampled it later.

Later on, J Dilla used the intro of Deee-Lite’s song, made his Have Some Fun Beat, which later collected in his Lost Tapes Reels album.

James Brown‘s album “Sex Machine” is one of his signature albums released in 1970. The album not only cemented his status as the “godfather of soul”, but also set a new benchmark in Funk music. The music on the album represents a key moment in Funk’s music, particularly with its innovations in rhythm and groove. James Brown‘s signature “one drop” rhythm and syncopation on this album drove the stylistic evolution of Funk music. The bass line on the album became a classic element of Funk music, emphasizing the central role of bass in Funk music in music production and arrangement. Although the content and themes of the “Sex Machine” album reflect, to some extent, male-dominated notions of gender, which we might consider to be an expression of androcentrism from a modern perspective, it was more common in the cultural context of the time. The interpretation of music and art is often influenced by the context of The Times.

We often feel small and insignificant, and we often start to worry about the things we worry about. However, when we look at the larger picture, these things end up not being so important, and Kiefer‘s understanding is expressed through music in the first half of his 2021 album When There’s Love Around. The second half of the album is more profound, using a positive attitude to face the pain of their own loss.
