今天fRUITYSHOP 和BIE的音乐宣发了 JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation 8月即将来到中国巡演的消息。很高兴看到了众多果友们期待的反馈。JJ Whitefield 作为音乐家有多个分身和参与的乐队。第一个被膜拜的是 Poets Of Rhythm 这支在90年代依然追寻纯粹funk声音的乐队。然而，JJ 和他的朋友们追寻没有止步。而后诞生的 Whitefield Brothers、Karl Hector & The Malcouns等等，还有最新生的 JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation 都有着不同音乐和文化的融合，渗入funk 节奏的渊源，形成了“迫人入定”的Whitefield 指尖流动的旋律。

JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation 最近推出了第一张专辑 The Infinity Of Nothingness 深受 Sun Ra 和 Pharaoh Sanders 两位自由、精神爵士大师的影响。不知道大家有没有先听为快？还是等这入胶再一鉴高下？今天的推荐并不是 JJ 的音乐，而是法老 Pharaoh Sanders 的一首 Thembi，译为“爱，信仰和希望”。

Today fRUITYSHOP and BIE Music announced that JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation will be touring China in August. It’s great to see the much-anticipated feedback from many of the fRUITYSHOP friends, as JJ Whitefield has had several alter egos and bands he has been involved with as a musician. The first to be worshipped was Poets Of Rhythm, a band that started out in the 90‘s in pursuit of a pure funk sound. However, JJ and his friends didn’t stop there. Whitefield Brothers, Karl Hector & The Malcouns and most recently JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation all have their roots in funk rhythms, with a fusion of different music and cultures. The result is the “compelling” melody flowing from Whitefield‘s fingertips.

JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation recently released their debut album, The Infinity Of Nothingness, influenced by the free, spiritual jazz masters Sun Ra and Pharaoh Sanders. Have you had a chance to listen to it yet? Or are you waiting to get a hold of the vinyl? Today’s recommendation is not JJ‘s music but Pharaoh Sanders’ Thembi, which translates to “Love, Faith and Hope.”

昨日水果律动组和另一位高桥先生来到了阿那亚，接管下午的放松时段。GaoGao说在日落后，且天还没有黑的时候会发生或看到很多有意思的事情。昨天也是这个时间段，从下午五点开始，在一望有际的草地上，放着自由自在的巴西之声和非洲节奏，放松的令人不可置信。但正如GaoGao所说，这是一个很迷幻的时间段，搭建的露天舞台最终变成了漏天舞台，突如其来的大雨中断了这短暂的美好，不过没关系，今天的迷幻时间马上又要开始了。

Yesterday the Fruit Groove group and another Mr. Shingo Takahashi came to Aranya for a short take over on stage and GaoGao said that a lot of interesting things happen or are seen after sundown and before it went dark. Yesterday, the same period, it was unbelievably relaxing to play free-flowing Brazilian sounds and African rhythms from 5pm, the sun is still on yet slowly went dark. But as GaoGao said, it was a very psychedelic time, the open-air stage that was set up eventually turned into a leaky stage, and a sudden rain interrupted the short-lived goodness, but that‘s okay, the psychedelic time of the day is about to begin again.

没错，那位神秘的顾客目前仍在店里留宿。究其原因，应该是前阵子的梅雨季导致的，也可能是循着冷气进来的，毕竟它是横着走的。无奈这几日的高温太猛烈，每晚闭店关空调后，一直到第二天才会又开冷气，每次中午来都能看到它变的红彤彤的钳子，嗯……这几天真热。

That’s right, that mysterious customer is still at the store . The reason for this would be the rainy season a while back, or maybe it‘s just following the AC in, after all, considering how it walks. Honestly, the heat is so fierce these days that after closing the store and turning off the air-conditioning every night, it won’t turn on until the next day, and every time back at the shop, I can see it turning red with pincers, hmmm ...... It‘s so hot these days.

马力是水果店的传奇员工之一，她的真名叫马力。是一位穿梭在各个时空的图书馆管理员，她对店内商品的库存了如指掌，每次到店交接班时，都能看到她忙碌的身影，而且库存里的盘都整理的简洁有序，而且她还特别喜欢喝酒。

然而如此优秀的人也会有出错的时候。比如，有一周全店每天都在找一张客人预留的COS的唱片。梳理了各种时间线和事件也没有找到。然而盘阴差阳错被马力带回家了。而为什么会被她拿回家，又有另一个故事。

Khailll is one of the legendary employees of fRUITY SHOP, her real name is Khailll. A librarian who travels through time and space, she knows every detailed inventory of the store‘s merchandise and the inventory are always organized in a concise and orderly fashion with her hand, and she has a particular fondness for alcohol.

However, even such a good employee can make mistakes. For example, there was a week, we lost track of a COS record. Everyday, everyone of fRUITYSHOP was trying to find it. We put together all time lines and checkpoints. The trace of the record was nowhere to find. Then, magically, Khailll found it at home. How? There is another story to tell.

Trius 也就是孙旭，来自北京。他是今日这张推荐专辑的作者; 同时是一位出色的DJ、影视作品配乐制作人，同时还是8月30日JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation 入定组上海站演出特别嘉宾一天世界（Eitisga）的鼓手，将在瓦肆（Vas）为大家带来现场演出。

翻看 Trius 的过往专辑，Black Stone、Yellow Ladder、Brown Island、Purple Mood这些，每张专辑都带着中式的自然风格和美式的色彩搭配，让你在两者之间产生微妙的遐想。

那么再说回入定组，他们与世界类型音乐的联系向来紧密；不仅如此，为了完美的复刻出那种律动感，他们也坚持使用那些老旧的设备去演奏和制作，这与嘻哈社群中一些坚持使用复古设备制作的风向不谋而合。这并不是危言耸听，直至今日仍有音乐人坚持使用70/80年代的设备去演出，这是独有的，无法复制的。

Trius, also known as Sun Xu, from Beijing. He is the producer of today’s recommended album; he is also an excellent DJ, maker of soundtracks for film and TV productions, and the drummer of Eitisga, the special guest of JJ Whitefield & Forced Meditation‘s Shanghai stop on August 30th, who will be playing live at Vas Live House.

Looking at Trius’ past albums - Black Stone, Yellow Ladder, Brown Island, Purple Mood - each album has a subtle reverie between the natural Chinese style and the American color palette.

Back to JJ again, the group has always had a strong connection to the world music; also, in order to perfectly replicate that groove, they also insist on playing and producing on old equipment, which coincides with some of the hip-hop community‘s insistence on vintage equipment. This is not to be taken as an alarmist statement, but to this day there are still musicians who insist on using 70’s/80‘s equipment for their performances, which is unique and can not be replicated.
