Sun Ra‘s world view was often described as a philosophy, but he rejected this term, describing his own manner as an ”equation“ and saying that while philosophy was based on theories and abstract reasoning, his method was based on logic and pragmatism. Sun Ra presents a unified conception, incorporating music, myth, and performance into his multi-leveled equations. It was in Chicago, as well, in the mid-fifties, that Ra began experimenting with extraterrestriality in his stage show, sometimes playing regular cocktail lounges dressed in space suits and ancient Egyptian regalia. By placing his band and performances in space and extraterrestrial environments Sun Ra built a world that was his own view of how the African diaspora connected.But by the heyday of Black Power radicalism in the 1960s, Sun Ra was expressing disillusionment with these aims. He denied feeling closely connected to any race.

这是一张不多见的现场录音专辑，由Hannibal Marvin Peterson与一众好友录制于1976年的柏林爵士音乐节。

你可以从头到尾感受到那种置身室外空旷原野的放松，如果是下午听这张专辑，绝对是一种非凡的体验；如果是晚上听，也绝对是一种非凡的体验。

神出鬼没的小号、迷迷糊糊的萨克斯、还有那温润可口的底鼓，带着你上天入地。

最令人惊喜的莫过于现场即兴所带来的新鲜感。

This is a rare live recording album, recorded by Hannibal Marvin Peterson and his friends at the 1976 Berlin Jazz Festival.

You can feel the relaxation of being outside in the open wilderness from start to finish in the session, and it‘s an absolutely remarkable experience if you listen to this album in the afternoon, or if you listen to it in the evening.

The ghost feel of trumpet, the dizzy yet fresh experience of the saxophone, and the warm and delicious drum sound take you right to the sky and the earth.

Nothing is more surprising than the freshness that comes from live improvisation.

一位智者曾经说过，一首歌能比心痛更持久。五天前杂谈中提到有几位老朋友来店里拍摄素材，当时还发生了一个小插曲，有一位朋友对于店里播放的唱片产生了疑问“为什么一直在循环这张专辑”，殊不知这张专辑已经被一位哥循环播放了一个星期。而这张专辑正是今天要推荐来自 Gary Corben 的第二张专辑《A New Kind of Fool 》这张专辑虽然发布于2020年，但给人处于70年代的氛围中。类似 Steely Dan , Marcos Valle & Leon Ware 的感觉和 Brazilian boogie , Samba Soul…都是专辑中出现的风格。

最近正逢国庆假期，推荐专辑中的一首很适合驱车出行旅游uu们在路上边听边哼唱的 A New Kind of Fool。

A wise man once said that a song will outlast a heartache. Five days ago, we mentioned that some old friends came to the store to shoot some material, and there was a small incident where one of them asked why the album was playing in the store “why is it on loop?” unbeknownst to him, it had been played on loop for a week by a brother. The album is Gary Corben’s second album, “A New Kind of Fool,” released in 2020 with a 70‘s vibe. A taste of Steely Dan, Marcos Valle & Leon Ware, and styles like Brazil Boogie and Samba Soul all appear on the album.

With the recent PRC National Day holiday, we recommend A New Kind of Fool, a great song to listen to and hum on the road for those who are travelling by car.
