Misrepresentation of food ingredients or contravention of the Act is punishable by a fine of up to S$5,000 (approximately Rs 27,000) for a first offense. Repeat offenders can be fined up to S$10,000 (approximately RMB 53,800) or imprisoned for up to three months, or both.
