Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, informed his Slovenian counterpart during their meeting in New York on Wednesday that China has agreed to provide visa-free entry to the Slovenian people.

"I am delighted to inform the Slovenian side that the Chinese government has decided to grant visa-free entry to Slovenian citizens," said Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

He further stated that this measure is "good news" for both the Slovenian and Chinese people, as it will actively foster friendly exchanges between the two countries and strengthen their friendship and mutual trust.

Wang was in attendance at a meeting with Tanja Fajon, the Slovenian deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and European affairs.

Wang asserted that China supports Slovenia assuming the rotating chair of the United Nations Security Council this month and is prepared to collaborate with the Slovenian government to promote international peace and security, uphold the authority of the United Nations and the Security Council, and implement true multilateralism. He also noted that Slovenia is a significant member of the European Union.

Fajon, on the other hand, conveyed the Slovenian government's appreciation for China's visa-free entrance policy, describing it as a "significant advantage" that will simplify interactions between the two nations and promote economic and trade collaboration.

Fajon stated that Slovenia is eager to foster close collaboration with China and address the Ukraine crisis, the conflict in Gaza, and other hotspot issues in their capacity as the rotating chair of the UN Security Council.

The two also discussed the Ukraine crisis and the conflict in Gaza, and they both agreed that the Security Council should assume its proper responsibilities and fulfil its role in the pursuit of political resolution of these issues.
