China Approves New Intl Routes to Europe, Africa&Americas in Q3

The new routes, operated by major carriers such as Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Juneyao Airlines, and Loong Air, reflect China’s continued efforts to expand its international aviation links, offering more travel options for both business and leisure passengers in growing global markets.

Air China
Air China is expanding its international network with several new routes, including four weekly flights from Beijing to Cairo and a unique service connecting Beijing, Paris, and Algiers, offering fifth freedom rights for the Paris-Algiers sector. Additionally, Air China will launch flights from Beijing to Tbilisi, with a stopover in Urumqi, operating three times weekly. Urumqi will also benefit from a direct four-weekly service to Tbilisi. These new routes strengthen Air China’s connectivity with Africa and Europe, providing travelers with more convenient options for international travel.

China Eastern Airlines
China Eastern has received approval to operate several key routes from Shanghai Pu Dong, including seven weekly flights to both Bucharest and Casablanca. Additionally, the airline will launch services to several European cities, including Dublin, Edinburgh, and Geneva, as well as four weekly flights to Cairo. These new routes will enhance China Eastern’s international network, providing increased connectivity between Shanghai and major destinations across Europe and North Africa, catering to both business and leisure travelers. This expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in global markets and offering more travel options to its passengers.

China Southern Airlines
China Southern is set to launch new international routes, including flights from Guangzhou to Bucharest and Riyadh. These additions will enhance the airline’s connectivity between China and Europe, as well as the Middle East. In addition, China Southern will introduce a unique weekly service from Wuhan to Melbourne, with a stop in Guilin. This route provides an exciting travel option for passengers connecting between China and Australia. These new services reflect China Southern’s ongoing efforts to expand its global network and provide more destination options for international travelers.

Juneyao Airlines
Juneyao Airlines is enhancing its transpacific network with the launch of a new four-weekly service between Shanghai Pu Dong and Mexico City, with a stopover in Tijuana. This route marks an important expansion in connecting China with Latin America, offering a convenient option for travelers between these major regions. The service strengthens Juneyao Airlines’ presence in international markets and caters to the growing demand for business and leisure travel between China and Mexico. This new route will also foster economic and cultural exchanges, providing greater connectivity for passengers on both sides of the Pacific.

Loong Air
Loong Air is set to expand its international network by launching three weekly flights from Hangzhou to Bucharest, marking a significant step in enhancing connectivity between China and Eastern Europe. This new route will provide passengers with a convenient travel option between the two cities, catering to both business and leisure travelers seeking access to Romania’s capital.

In addition, Shanghai Airlines is further extending its global reach with the introduction of new services from Shanghai to Melbourne and Casablanca, with a stopover in Marseille. The Shanghai–Melbourne route will operate seven times weekly, offering a direct connection between China and Australia. The Shanghai–Marseille–Casablanca route will provide travelers with a seamless link from China to North Africa, via southern France. Both routes reflect Shanghai Airlines’ commitment to expanding its international presence and providing more diverse travel options. These new services will support growing demand for travel between China and key destinations in Europe, Australia, and Africa.

Belavia Belorussian Airlines
Belavia Belorussian Airlines has been granted approval to operate a new international route connecting Minsk, the capital of Belarus, with Urumqi in China. This new service, operating once weekly, will enhance connectivity between Eastern Europe and Western China, opening up opportunities for both business and leisure travelers.

The Minsk-Urumqi route is particularly significant, as it bridges two important regions, fostering economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Belarus and China. Urumqi, located in the Xinjiang region, serves as a key hub for trade and commerce along the modern Silk Road, making it a strategic destination for expanding international ties.

For Belavia, this new route represents a further step in its strategy to grow its international network and establish stronger connections with key markets in Asia.
