Braised Yak Hoof with Steamed Rolls (RMB 288)
Featuring Qinghai yak hoof, this is one hearty dish that's an ideal show stopper for sharing with friends. Cooked to perfection, the meat is tender yet springy and packed with flavor. Served with delicate turmeric spiced steamed rolls we'd recommend tearing off a chunk and sandwiching some meat inside for the perfect pairing.
Stir Fried Beef Mince with Highland Barley and Garlic Sprouts (RMB 98)
Made with handpicked Qilian barley and marinated beef mince, this dish delivers layered textures and flavors. Spicy garlic sprouts add a bite of freshness to the dish and it can either serve as your main meal or as a side dish if sharing.
Lamb chops with Sichuan Peppercorns (RMB 288)
If you're eating Qinghai cuisine, you of course have to have some lamb. This dish uses lamb from Qinghai Chaka sheep, and the lamb chops are cooked in a rustic Qinghai farmhouse style, which ensures the meat is tender and juicy. Green Sichuan peppercorns add a subtle layer of numbing spiciness which doesn't overpower the delicious taste of the meat itself.
Stir Fried Spicy Beef Tripe with Small Steamed Rolls (RMB 168)
Although tripe may not be everyone's cup of tea, this clay pot dish is super authentic and embodies the flavors of Northwestern cuisine. The tripe is stir fried with celery, mini steamed rolls and slices of red and green chilies to add a spicy punch to the dish.
Qinghai Niangpi with Green Chives in Chili Sauce (RMB 58)
A beloved street snack in Qinghai, niangpi are a little bit similar to liangpi, albeit much thicker and less noddle-like. At Qing Hai they make their liangpi by hand kind and they have a lovely firm yet smooth texture. They come drenched in a super flavorful sauce made from scallions, chili flakes and vinegar.
Qinghai Wild Onion Salad with Chili & Vinegar Sauce (RMB 68)
Along with the new dishes, this signature cold dish is a must try. Wild onions, or 沙葱 shācōng in Chinese which literally means "sand onions" are a specialty of Northwestern cuisine and are often used as a seasoning to complement lamb, however can be a dish in their own right. Combined with a chili and vinegar sauce the salad acts as a refreshing palate cleanser amidst the meat-heavy dishes.
