What is sudden cardiac death?

This is what a healthy heart looks like as it pumps blood through the body. This rhythmic pumping action is the heartbeat. And this is controlled by the heart's electrical system.
这是健康的心脏，它将血液泵入全身。这种有节律地泵送作用就是心跳。它由心脏电传导系统控制。
In some patients, there is a problem with the heart's electrical system. And the heart suddenly starts beating so fast that it quivers or shakes instead of pumping blood to the body and brain.
有些患者的电传导系统会出现问题。心脏突然开始快速跳动，导致它颤动或震颤，而不是向身体和大脑输送血液。
When this happens, the patient can collapse and die suddenly. This is called sudden cardiac death, also known as SCD. It occurs without warning.

Some people confuse sudden cardiac death with a heart attack, but they are not the same.

A heart attack is caused by a blockage that stops blood flow and the oxygen supply to part of the heart. Within a short time, these cells start to die causing damage to the heart. With a heart attack, a person may feel severe chest pain or other symptoms, but usually remains conscious.
心脏病发作是由血液流动和心脏部分供氧受阻引起的。细胞在短时间内开始死亡，对心脏造成损害。心脏病发作时，患者可能会感到严重胸痛或其他症状，但通常保持清醒。
Sudden cardiac death however occurs without warning and without the person feeling any signs that something is about to happen. With sudden cardiac death, you suddenly fall unconscious and will not be able to call for help. It may even happen while you sleep.
然而，心源性猝死是在没有任何预兆，并且患者没有感觉到任何即将发生的迹象的情况下发生的。心脏性猝死会导致患者突然失去知觉，无法呼救。它甚至可能在患者睡觉时发生。
