The University of Scranton Seeks an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Global South
The University of Scranton Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the History of the Global South, beginning Fall 2025. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in History or related field by the time of appointment, though advanced graduate students will be considered. Candidates with teaching experience are preferred. Primary responsibilities will include teaching the World History survey as well as other courses in the successful candidate’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will also be able to teach courses related to the British Empire with a particular focus on the Global South (South/Southeast Asia, Africa, etc.). All geographic and chronological focuses are encouraged to apply, although we particularly welcome candidates who can contribute to the Black Studies or Asian Studies concentrations. The expected teaching load is 3/3.
