Echoing …’s perspective, I believe that a company should prioritize an employee’s performance over tenure when considering promotions. This view is rooted in the fact that work performance directly reflects an individual’s contributions to the company and their ability to garner respect among colleagues.


For instance, a Human Resources (HR) manager who successfully recruits highly qualified individuals demonstrates deep insights into the company’s operational needs and a sharp acumen for navigating the volatile job market—qualities essential for leading the HR department. Similarly, a product manager who successfully launches a product that appeal to the target market during an economic downturn clearly shows potential for higher leadership roles, possibly even as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), by consistently steering the company in the right direction.


While some may argue that extensive work experience is a solid indicator of an employee’s reliability and expertise, suggesting suitability for promotion, it’s important to recognize that long work years only represent the past, not the future. Given today’s fluctuating market, it is more sensible to place greater emphasis on employees who have demonstrated their capabilities at work.


In conclusion, were I to set the criteria for job promotions, I would place greater emphasis on an individual’s job performance rather than the length of service.

Many employees can now do their work from home using modern technology. However, this change may only benefit workers, not the employers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is sometimes argued that working from home benefits employees exclusively and not employers. I disagree with this notion and contend that the ability to work from home using modern technology is undeniably advantageous for both parties involved.


On the one hand, it is undeniable that working from home offers significant convenience to employees. Firstly, a substantial amount of time spent commuting and preparing for work, especially for those who apply makeup daily, can be saved if employees work from home. Secondly, not having to be present at the office allows for greater freedom in choosing residential locations. For example, a couple who work far from each other can live together without anyone having to sacrifice by traveling long distances to work. Similarly, someone who works downtown where rent is exorbitantly high can save money by living in the suburbs, free from the inconvenience of commuting. Thirdly, employees can make themselves as comfortable as possible when working from home, a privilege they do not have in the typical workplace.


On the other hand, employees working from home can also be beneficial to employers in various ways. One primary benefit is the significant reduction in office maintenance costs. For instance, utility bills and salaries for cleaning staff can amount to a substantial figure each month. The financial condition of companies could improve if these costs are reduced. If remote work becomes a long-term strategy, companies may not even need to pay rent for office buildings. Another benefit is that working from home can help companies avoid disruptions caused by health issues, such as the global COVID-19 pandemic, when the spread of the virus and policies restricting gatherings can undermine all aspects of a company's operations.


In conclusion, I believe that working from home brings advantages to both employees and employers simultaneously.
