We have been discussing how technology has fueled an expansion in the availability of information, including the news. Some traditional news sources have a reputation for being fact based and for presenting multiple views. However, other news sources, including some blogs and social media, may present partial, or even inaccurate, information. What is the best way to determine whether a news source is accurate and reliable or not? Why?The best way to protect consumers of news from misinformation is through education. In our school, for example, there was a class about evaluating media sources. By constantly questioning journalists' points of view and by considering a variety of sources, we developed a more critical eye and can now better avoid falling victim to propaganda and “fake news.”I don't think it's always possible to know for sure whether news is reliable or not. That's why l try to get most of my news from well-known sources that I trust. Those sources may not always have the most up-to-date information, but it is good to know that their reporters have fact-checked the information before they've shared it.

The best way to determine whether a news source is accurate and truthful
RTT 55 参考范文:
I agree with Andrew that it's not always possible to know whether a piece of news is real or fake because even news sources with good reputations for being serious and trustworthy make mistakes. However, that doesn't mean we can't tell whether a source is reliable. I believe the best and easiest way to evaluate a news source is to check the accuracy of its reports after all the facts are revealed. If a news source frequently reports false information, it can't be considered reliable, even though it may occasionally be accurate. Pual's idea of teaching people how to avoid misinformation through education, however, may only be effective for a limited number of people, mostly students who are still in school. For those who have already graduated, returning to school to take a course on media evaluation is impractical. Therefore, while this approach may address the problem more fundamentally, it cannot be the best solution for everyone. (Total words: 157 words; by Zirui Wang)🎁🎁
