A story involving Danylo Teslenko, a legendary Ukrainian CS:GO player known as "Zeus," has sparked heated discussion online after details of his personal life in Shanghai emerged. Teslenko, who was in the city for an exhibition match, shared his experiences with women during his trip in a fan group, claiming he often encountered friendly and approachable Chinese women.
In one instance, he recounted meeting a 21-year-old college student in Shanghai. According to him, they instantly hit it off, and she accompanied him to his hotel, where they had a one-night stand on the same day they met. Teslenko further shared a video with his fans, showing the young woman in bed with him. In the footage, she appeared cheerful, feeding him snacks and waving at his fans on camera.
The incident quickly went viral among Chinese netizens, who identified the woman as a student from Dalian University of Technology in Liaoning Province. Reports suggest that the publicity of the event led to her boyfriend breaking up with her.
Netizens have expressed a range of reactions. Many criticized Teslenko for his indiscretion and "lack of decency" in publicly sharing the encounter. However, much of the criticism was directed at the woman, with comments accusing her of being overly eager to engage with foreign men ("崇洋媚外," or "worshipping foreigners"). Others mocked her for making herself "easily available" while contrasting the cultural expectations placed on Chinese men, who are often required to provide substantial dowries or own property before marriage.
The incident has sparked broader debates online about cultural attitudes, gender norms, and the personal conduct of public figures.
