艺术治疗(art therapy)是一种心理健康专业,通过积极的艺术创作、创造过程、应用心理学理论和心理治疗关系中的人类体验来丰富个人、家庭和社区的生活。


艺术治疗可以帮助解决许多问题和经历,包括:情感探索、自尊问题、压力、焦虑、沮丧、创伤、悲伤、人格障碍、身体疾病和残疾。


艺术治疗由专业艺术治疗师主持,可有效支持个人和关系治疗目标以及社区关注。艺术治疗用于改善认知和感觉运动功能、培养自尊和自我意识、培养情绪恢复能力、提高洞察力、提高社交技能、减少和解决冲突和痛苦,并促进社会和生态变革。


艺术治疗包括使用绘画、拼贴、着色或雕刻等创造性技巧,帮助人们以艺术的方式表达自己,并审视艺术作品中的心理和情感底蕴。


在有资质的艺术治疗师的指导下,客户可以解读这些艺术形式中常见的非语言信息、符号和隐喻,从而更好地理解他们的感受和行为,以便他们能够继续解决更深层次的问题。


艺术治疗建立在这样的信念之上:通过艺术创作进行自我表达,对正在康复或寻求更深入地了解自己及其行为的人具有治疗价值。艺术治疗将心理治疗和某种形式的视觉艺术结合起来,作为一种特定的、独立的治疗形式,但它也可以与其他类型的治疗结合使用。
